North Dakota’s Five Largest Medical Providers Are Opposed To Obamacare

North Dakota’s liberals, and liberal flak groups like the AARP, have been trying to provide cover for Rep. Earl Pomeroy and Senators Byron Dorgan and Kent Conrad for their votes for Obamacare (which 62% of North Dakotans oppose) by saying that they have the support of medical professionals in North Dakota.
In fact, North Dakota AARP flak Lyle Halvorson told me on Twitter over the weekend that they have the support of “the state’s docs, nurses and hospitals.”
But is that true? Not really. Scott Hennen pointed out on his radio show today, North Dakota’s five largest health care providers (including Meritcare, Altru, and Trinity) all oppose the health care bill Pomeroy, Conrad and Dorgan have all now voted for.
Though, to be fair, Dorgan and Conrad only voted for the bill to advance to the Senate floor for debate. But as far as I’m concerned, any vote to advance the bill is a vote for the bill itself.
So here’s reality, to counter liberal spin. Not only are a majority of North Dakotans opposed to this health care bill, the health care providers where most North Dakotans get their health care are opposed to it too.

The American people are smart and smell a rat with the Democratic Congress radical health package. A little good news the government run option that could cripple the health insurance industry, is sinking in approval. Senior’s strongly oppose 60% are against it. 60% of the people say it will increase cost. 54% think quality of care will decline. The one think we know for sure is that seniors go to the polls and they do vote. The people of North Dakota can never forget what Pomeroy, Dorgan and Conrad have done to this state and the distrust they have shown us. It’s time for change we can believe in.

So you link to Hennen’s show to prove 5 health care providers don’t like the bill. Can you provide more proof than what Hennen claims? Or is this just hearsay?

This is news – Opposition to the health care reform legislation. Dino tell us again how people’s opinions should be disregarded, especially if they don’t agree with you , even if they are the majority opinion. That is just fine for commie culture but we are Americans. Our elected officials should due their duty and honor the oath they swore. They are OUR representatives and we tell them what we think and want. The party hacks demand loyalty but the people don’t want to be lead by coastal lunatics that have no clue about the rest of the country. The more exposure they get the more they scurry like cockroaches when the light comes on. Shine the light of truth. The American people can be fooled but we are not fools. 2010 is drawing near – real Hope and Change is near. NO MORE RINO’s.

And why would Dorgan Conrad and Pomeroy listen to people that actually
    PROVIDE health care?

You’re not the majority opinion. Not by a long shot.

We don’t elect people to do as the ignorant white trash wants. That’s you.

One of my largest clients, UPMC is the largest medical network here in the Pittsburgh area. They have not publicly come out with a position statement on this to my knowledge, but I can say that every one of their people that I work with have personally said they hate the idea as well. In addition to being an insurer they operate a huge network of hospitals, clinics and affiliated services throughout the state of PA and are expanding internationally into Italy, Ireland and elsewhere. It would be interesting to see if there is a national survey of these folks and organizations like them and what they say about the subject. I suspect that they all realize that Obamacare will severely cripple their economic models. And the really funny part of that is that they are a non-profit organization.

Wow! What a surprise! They’ll miss those lavish parties and huge bonuses thanks to their monopoly.

That’s the best part about reform: removing the anti-trust exemption enjoyed by health care firms.

Also, tell us what market share those 5 companies have. I’ll bet the top 2 have 80%.

Screw the seniors. I can’t wait to see the cuts to their Medicare.

No more heart transplants for 75 year olds. You had your time on earth, time to say bye bye.

Well Hennen actually interviewed these people and you can find the interviews in his podcasts.
