North Dakota State University Students In Hot Water For Obama Skit

The Whistler  •  March 29, 2008

One featuring a white student in black face depicting Obama getting a lap dance. And a couple of Brokeback Mountain cowboys, apparently.
My reaction? Sounds pretty dumb to me, but there is a double standard to consider here. I’m sure these students will get suspended or otherwise disciplined even as Obama gets a pass from liberal media types for his Reverend’s theories about “whitey” creating HIV to destroy the black race.
One of these two things is stupid but ultimately harmless. The other is hateful and inexcusable.
And one will be taken a lot more seriously than the other by folks on the left.

    You’re way off on this one. What those kids did was inexcusable. Obama has done nothing wrong. You seem to have blurred what Obama has said and what his pastor have said, which are two completely different things. Rev. Wright isn’t running for President. Barack Obama is.

    Just in case you didn’t notice: When Obama was was informed of the skit, he refused to comment on it. The man has class. He knows what’s important and what is not. That is who we need for president.

    Or a fear of stepping into something, big time! He has a plate full of controversy as it is, he doesn’t need any more! His silence could have just as easily been cowardice as class!

    One of the other bloggers on Highbrid Nation, Juan Perez, wrote about those idiots in South Dakota putting on blackface and honestly I”m not too surprised. Unfortunately as a black man I’m well aware that these type of things happen when there are no black people to witness them. Yet somehow mainstream tries to pretend racism is fading away. It’s not fading away, it’s just hiding. The days of the KKK are gone but have been replaced with a more passive version where people can do outlandish things like the frat in SD and then they can just turn around and say “sorry we didn’t mean to be offensive” and everyone lets it go. This is what Obama is dealing with right now, a nation with tons of racists who don’t even know they are.
