North Dakota Legislature Won’t Be Honoring Bono

The stupid waste of time, energy and (most importantly) tax payer dollars that was the resolution to honor U2 front man Bono introduced by Scott Kelsh (D - Fargo) has been shot down.

And rightfully so.  I know it was giving many of North Dakota’s far-left minority vapors, but c’mon.  Bono has never been to North Dakota.  And while he’s perceived as sort of world-renowned philanthropist, the reality of his “philanthropy” is that it is little more than lobbying world governments to spend more tax dollars on entitlements while he hides his own fortune in tax shelters.

If North Dakota’s legislature is going to recognize someone for their good deeds, how about someone who is at least from the state?  Or has at least been to the state?

That would make more sense, but whatever.  It doesn’t surprise me one bit that a big-government liberal like Kelsh would see no problem in wasting government time and our tax dollars on honoring his favorite musicians.
