North Dakota Hospital President: Insurance Rates Will Go Up Under Obamacare
In an interview on the Scott Hennen Show this morning, Meritcare President Dennis Millirons said there’s “no way” insurance premiums could go down under Obamacare.
PlainsDaily.com has the audio.
The new President of Meritcare Medical Center in Fargo says there’s “no way” insurance rates can go down under President Obama’s newly-approved health care overhaul. …
The Obama administration has claimed that costs could actually go down.
To be fair, Millirons does admit that Obamacare may slow the rate of growth in insurance premiums, but in his opinion that’s no certainty even though the Obama administration and Democrats (including Conrad, Dorgan and Pomeroy here in North Dakota who voted for it) sold the bill as though “bending the cost curve down” were a certainty.
It’s not. And what’s a certainty is that our premiums aren’t going down. So even supposing that this bill slows the rate of growth in health insurance premiums, that’s a short-term, band-aid fix at best.
One we achieved by enacting a gigantic new government program complete with power-grabs, tax hikes and big new deficit spending.
