North Dakota AG Wayne Stenehjem To Investigate Constitutional Basis Of Health Care Bill

Follow suit of other states such as South Carolina and Tennessee which I posted about earlier:

BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says he’s participating in an inquiry about possible incentives offered to Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson to support a health care measure in the U.S. Senate.
The provision exempts Nebraska from paying extra Medicaid costs to cover additional beneficiaries.
Stenehjem says there are questions about whether the arrangement violates the U.S. Constitution.
Stenehjem says South Carolina’s two Republican senators asked their attorney general to research the question. He says he took part in a conference call late Tuesday with eight to 10 other attorneys general and their deputies.

Well done.
We can’t take this bill sitting down.

Specious at best. The Fed has no power to tell me what to buy. This must go down in flames, and when it does I will toast our founders with the closest thing I can get my hands on…..

Hats off to the ND Attorney General for looking at what is happening with this health bill. We must continue to work hard at killing this poor piece of legislation. Merry Chirstmas to all and thanks AG Stenehjem for looking the health bill and the buying of states votes.

Good for them. I hope they don’t get bought off or sandbagged by DC. Someone needs to look into all these funny behind close door dealings. I’m certainly getting weary of this take from others and give a portion of it to some other group. King George III would be proud.

Of course there is a bit of a social engineering aspect to it. Now Nebraska’s population is going to explode with people seeking free medical and lower tax rates then the rest of the 49.

That is fantastic news! I think you’re right Randy, Wayne could easily be the next North Dakota Governor.

  • sayanything-1439

I believe that they need to go deeper, no pun intended extinct reptile.

Where does the constitution allow for gov telling me what I have to buy..? This is not a privilege, so they cant say this is just like car insurance..

This is the lawsuit I want to watch..

Sounds like a 10th amendment violation. I don’t think We who live in North Dakota should have to pay for Nebraska or California’s mistakes. Nor should they have to pay for us.

  • sayanything-4416

We already pay for you. ND gets $1.68 for every dollar they pay in federal taxes.

OH, there you guys go again…expecting a statist to be rational or intellectual or informed or normal…lol

I know he keeps you informed, kind of like the WH and the morning joe folks. He probably sent you something on your blackberry. LOL, kidding of course. That would be a good guest for your show.

  • sayanything-101

You can drive a car on your own land without car insurance and you can also choose not to own a car.
The Obamacare advocates’ argument is specious.

  • sayanything-32786

Awful windy in here tonight, and the odor is horrendous…

  • sayanything-101

Then why do I pay more in ND income taxes than I do in federal income taxes?

  • sayanything-6955

    That didn’t take long.

  • sayanything-4416

You won’t take the bill sitting down.

    You’ll take it bent over.

Wonder if he read your comment.

    ;-)

Working on getting him on the radio show for tonight.

  • sayanything-101

Gee, where did he find the time?

  • sayanything-6955

Wayne S. will be the next ND Governor if he wants it.
