North Dakota AG Wayne Stenehjem To Investigate Constitutional Basis Of Health Care Bill
Follow suit of other states such as South Carolina and Tennessee which I posted about earlier:
BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) North Dakota Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says he’s participating in an inquiry about possible incentives offered to Nebraska Sen. Ben Nelson to support a health care measure in the U.S. Senate.
The provision exempts Nebraska from paying extra Medicaid costs to cover additional beneficiaries.
Stenehjem says there are questions about whether the arrangement violates the U.S. Constitution.
Stenehjem says South Carolina’s two Republican senators asked their attorney general to research the question. He says he took part in a conference call late Tuesday with eight to 10 other attorneys general and their deputies.
Well done.
We can’t take this bill sitting down.
