North Dakota College Kicks Player Off Football Team For Kissing His Boyfriend
7:58am
At North Dakota State University 10 current players, including four starters among them standout Marcus Williams, are currently being charged with massive petition fraud for submitting nearly 25,000 fraudulent signatures that undermined two initiated measures that voters won’t get a chance to vote on this year and cost the committees backing those measures hundreds of thousands of dollars. Another player, starting linebacker Travis Beck, is set to plead guilty today to drinking underage in an incident where he and an accomplice stole traffic signs and then fled police officers (he was initially charged with resisting arrest too but that was dropped after a plea agreement).
All of these players are not only still on the NDSU football team, but the 10 charged with petition fraud aren’t even facing any discipline from the team (if Beck was disciplined, I’m not aware of it).
Meanwhile, at the North Dakota State College of Sciences, Jamie Kuntz was kicked off the football team for being gay. The official reason given by the coach was that Kuntz was a distraction for the team, and that he lied to the coach about his sexual orientation, but let’s be honest. It was because he was gay, but the coach was smart enough not to put that in the letter.
So that’s the standard we’re setting I guess. If you’re a criminal you get to play football, but if you’re a homo you don’t.
The North Dakota University System is quickly becoming an embarrassment for the state.
