North Carolina College Students Vote Chick-fil-A Off Campus

04chick_blog1-blog480

The students are showing their commitment to tolerance by having zero tolerance for moralities that are different from their own.

Elon University’s student government has voted to ban a Chick-fil-a restaurant on campus because the fast-food chain’s president opposes gay marriage.

The North Carolina university’s Student Government Association approved the ban with a vote of 35-11.

Association president Darien Flowers could still veto the ban but if he approves it the group will formally ask the restaurant to find another business to take its space.

What’s next? Vote the Muslim groups off campus because they don’t like gay marriage either?

This is the brand of “tolerance” our kids are learning on college campuses. It’s not real tolerance, which would mean that we respect the right of others to disagree with us, but phony tolerance where in those whose beliefs don’t mesh with liberal orthodoxy are to be silenced and ostracized.

Oh no. You have to be some shade of Christian to qualify for this level of intolerance.

    • Chauncey Freeman

You have hit the target in the bull’s eye. The Orthodox Jewish and Islamic religions prescribe the death penalty for homosexuality, ONLY the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the one true Living God offer an eternal way to salvation and a way out from sin.

The rebellion that is at the core of the homosexual would choose to remain silent in the face of the Jewish and Islamic death penalty but by stating the truth boldly that homosexuality is the worship of sin and as such can be stopped at any time the homosexualist must go after the religion that exposes the truth. Aside from that, Islam and Judaism possess a cloak of protection under political correctness so the pink mafia would not dare engage in the defamation against those groups as they do against Christians.

Toothless U can keep the gays and the rest of America will keep “eatin’ mor chikn!”

We must as a nation begin to push back against radical gay bullies. If they can bring a billion dollar business to its knees (pardon the pun) for supporting traditional marriage just think what they can do to you and your children for the same “thought crime”.

  • Clarence A. Herz

    They are bullies. Nothing more.

  • HG

    This is rather telling.
    From the article:

“The ban was drafted by Spectrum, a self descrived ‘queer-straight
    alliance’ on campus.”

    The is the gay agenda.
They support this sort of zero-tolerance policy regardless of the
consequences to religious liberty or the majority opinion.

“An informal online poll of students found 64% opposed… while
    29% supported the ban.”

  • mikemc1970

The left only tolerates intolerance when it’s the right kind of intolerance or something.

  • Tim Heise

Not surprised. Student Government is a joke. University Presidents are dictators and can do whatever they want.

  • Bobby

It seems to me school districts in some instances try to prohibit, with support from various types, gay focused groups. that sort of public action is far more reprehensible than an advisory vote by the students of a private institution. If anything your audience should champion this private action. Your readers believe that private beliefs regarding moral issues should trump conflicting policy. This is an example of the liberty espoused by right wing populists. Fun!

    • robert108

It’s not a “private action”, it’s special interest bigotry. It’s the tyranny of forcing a minority view on the majority.

      • Bobby

In this specific instance, the students at a private institution, acting as a majority of those voting, made an advisory vote. I am saying, if you believe a private institution can decide not to hire a contractor or employee because of a conflicting moral opinion, you shouldn’t complain if it happens. I am also saying it is much worse when a public body pulls this, like a school district saying no to gays or god, etc.

        • http://sayanythingblog.com Rob

I fully support private institutions doing whatever they want, Bobby, but these are people who no doubt think of themselves as liberals instituting the exact opposite of liberty.

          I’m pointing out that hypocrisy.

          • Bubba

            Rob,

I am 50/50 with you. I know that you were making the point you describe above. I was pointing out the same hypocrisy. Congrats, incidentally, on your panel in nj, I mean that. you’re selling a product that people want to buy.

          • Bubba

I’d ad it was in response to your reader, not you

          • Davo

And there’s nothing in the world worse than hypocrisy. Chick-Fil-A’s CEO might be a Nazi and a serial killer, but at least he’s consistent.

          • robert108

So, all you have is lying smear, then? He’s neither a Nazi nor a serial killer, but you try to smear him anyway. How moral is that?

          • thomaspainelives

            Godwin’s Law, you lose.

      • Bobby

To explain it, that vote was a private action, insofar as it was taken by certain stakeholders of a private institution, regarding the tenants that are allowed on the property held by the private institution.

        • http://sayanythingblog.com Rob

          Thanks, Captain Obvious.

          • Bubba

            You’re welcome, private port.

        • robert108

It’s still a special interest minority attempting to force its decisions on the majority, not matter how hard you try to spin it.
In the real world, we call it fascism.

  • robert108

    Bigotry.

  • GoneApe

These kids are worthless trash. They are nothing but mimes and parrots displaying what indoctrination has done to them.

  • Neiman

This is Satan’s hour, he has beguiled most of the human race, including almost everyone here at SAB. Everyone that has supported falsely called gay rights and/or gay marriage are deceived by hell, they are willingly in league with hell and no man shall turn the tide, which insures our national implosion and destruction; if not, God will have to repent to Sodom and Gomorrah for their destruction under His heavy hand.

America is now truly a fools paradise, a morally, economically and militarily sinking ship. No, not even Romney/Ryan can save it now, nothing short of a national repentance which will not come, as all men enjoy their lusts too much and rejoice in the debauchery of their neighbors.

Look at that disgusting picture above, it should replace the stars and stripes as the symbol of how far America has fallen from its former greatness, all because we kicked God out of the public square and defend it even now.

    • Bubba

      Thank the 1680s, bro.

Must not be a big party school.

  • Chauncey Freeman

When fascism comes to America it will be carrying a pink swastika wrapped in a rainbow flag and it has come to North Carolina.

  • davo

The only type of bigotry we support is conservative bigotry!

    • http://sayanythingblog.com Rob

So, you’re not for religious liberty? We must force every one to cater to a certain moral orthodoxy?

You people should stop calling yourselves liberals.

      • Davo

Religious freedom is awesome! I would be really sad if someone was preventing Chick-Fil-A employees or customers from establishing a religion. Is that happening? If so, I’m outraged!

        • robert108

Typical distraction. The subject here is the bigotry of the sodomite fringe toward real marriage. They’re using economic terrorism to enforce their dogma.

    • robert108

Bigotry is exclusive to the left wing. Conservatives support equality of opportunity, as put forth in the Constitution.

      • Davo

I keep trying to sell hardcore gay pornography across the street from the elementary school, but the State keeps shutting me down. It’s good to know I have a supporter in robert108 and the Republican Party.

        • robert108

Again, nothing but nonsense and lying smear from you. If you want to push your porn, get a libertarian to help you, not a conservative. Libertarians are moral relativists.

  • jerry

Chick-fil-A is welcome in cities and towns across the country. They are highly successful, and not having a store on the Elon campus won’t make any difference in the corporate bottom line. The students choose to “take a stand” for their own brand of bigotry. It doesn’t say much for the quality of higher education these days.

  • http://www.generalpatriot.com/ GeneralAl

OK, fine! I going to ban people with whom I disagree from my property! After all, if they don’t agree with me, they must be intolerant! Makes about as much sense as this hogwash!

  • http://www.facebook.com/michael.mcallister.79219 Michael McAllister

And North Carolina voted how on same sex marriage….? So I have to close my shop and move off campus……civil rights violation…..?

  • SigFan

For all their self-proclaimed tolerance and inclusiveness the left, and particularly the gay left, seem to be pretty intolerant and exclusive – at least if you don’t agree with them. This is just another example of a minority group throwing a tantrum and people being willing to compromise their principles just to shut them up.

  • DaCoachK

Fags. It wasn’t too long ago that even Democrats hated these sick individuals too. The country is going to hell. Wait until the Mexicans or the Muslims take over; they aren’t nearly as “tolerant” as white liberals are

I wonder if this College has a HIV clinic, If chick -fil-a leaves maybe a K-Y Jelly Store could replace it and carry live Gerbil’s Plus Brown -eye Suckers on a stick.Frozen Semen Popcycles would be nice for a late snack .this is exactly what this So-called College needs so they will be Butt Happy

    • Davo

      SayAnythingBlog.com, ladies and gentlement.

  • JettieG

FFS, let Chick-Fil-A open. If they don’t generate a profit, they’ll close. These college kids will soon learn about jobs, earnings and profits. Oh, let me amend that: these kids will graduate and be asking “do you want fries with that?” at their first jobs.

  • Davo

Good for these students. It’s shocking for young people to believe in *anything* strongly these days. I know the conservatives here are upset that they’re not supporting your policies regarding gay couples, but it’s good that they’re willing to set their own desires aside (“tasty chicken sandwiches!”) to support those less fortunate.

    • thomaspainelives

It’s a sham, they probably never ate there anyway. Why is a student government running the university anyway? It’s the University’s choice on whether the restaurant stays or not.
