Nobody Can Claim To Have Been At Center Of Both National Security And National Financial Disasters

But one of Obama’s potential picks for Attorney General can!

Not many people can claim to have been at the center of arguably the greatest financial disaster and greatest national security disaster in American history. But Gorelick, said to be on the short list for attorney general by the New York Times, can. Surely that qualifies her for further government service.

Change we can believe in!
Seriously, though. I’d like to know who Gorelick has dirt on to keep popping up again and again in national politics. She was the architect of the “wall’ between foreign and domestic intelligence services that allowed 9/11 to happen. She was involved in the shady bookkeeping at Fannie Mae from 1998 to 2003. She even got one of those “friends of Angelo” loans from former Countrywide Financial CEO Angelo Mozilo.
And yet still she manages to make it on the short list for AG? Despite all of that baggage?
Either Obama has questionable judgment, or Gorelick has naked pictures of him.
Probably both.

She was also involved in Duke Universities defense after the Lacrosse team rape hoax.

this lady is a disaster in everything she does.

Actually, the guy I’m talking about is not Paulson, but rather the guy he hired, Neel Kashkari. He was a Goldman Sachs VP before moving to the Treasury.

Now I won’t deny that Gorelick is especially charmed, but why is anyone hiring former Goldman Sachs VPs, seeing they just went under due to the mismanagement of their executives? Or why did the Fed hire Bear Stearns’ former risk management officer, Michael Alix?

Maybe we can let these guys learn the meanings of “risk,” “recusal,” and so on and see if they can be trusted with thousands or millions before we put billions in their control again?

    I guess not. Sigh.

Gorelick isn’t the only one who seems to be charmed. What about the guy Hank Paulson hired to manage that $700 billion bailout?

Paulson’s level of competence can be argued about, but unlike Gorelick, I don’t think he can be tied directly to predatory activities.

The Mistress of Disaster was at Fannie Mae when the senior executives were engaging in Enron style accounting tricks to generate 7 and 8 figure bonuses. I’m of the opinion that Gorelick is one of the people who should go to jail in the mortgage scandal.

I was going to say, Get her some Clinton knee pads and she could blow that, too!

More than anyone else, she was a direct accomplice to 9/11, it was she that drafted the plan to keep CIA and the FBI from communicating about intelligence matters durign Billy Jeff’s Administration.

Not only should Jamie Gorelick not be placed in a position of power again, she should not be allowed withing 1000 yeards of anyone who holds power.

In my opinion, she belongs behind bars.

Even more so, than had McCain won.

I doubt that anything could rise above the level of incompetence of a John McCain.

    Remember the Duke Lacrosse players?

While Mike Nifong was trying to frame these kids for a crime that never took place, Duke University tried to pressure their own students into cooperating with the frame job.

Duke violated the civil rights of the Lacrosse players, and this woman defended Duke’s actions.

I cannot argue with this sentiment.
With all the baggage BO’s got, and there’s a lot, you’d think he’d have been beaten a campaign with the ability to get out the vote. The “base” was obviously not very excited.
    Palin, or not.

Either Obama has questionable judgment, or “she hates America”.

Gorelick isn’t the only one who seems to be charmed. What about the guy Hank Paulson hired to manage that $700 billion bailout? His previous job? With Goldman Sacks. The Fed just hired somebody from one of the failed banks (doing risk evaluations), and Obama’s economic team reads like an org chart for Fannie and Freddie.

One would think that presiding over a multi-trillion dollar disaster would make it tough to get another high profile job. It appears, however, that resume-readers look mostly at the job held, not how well the company performed while they were doing that job.

It goes that way in the private sector sometimes, too. My company hired a couple of executives a few years back from a company that went Chapter 7–despite the fact that any number of people with our company (in worker bee ranks, alas) could have told you exactly why these people ought not be hired, and how they were indeed responsible for that collapse. There are simply some people who evidently get a “get out of jail free” card in life.

P.S. Her nickname is The Mistress of Disaster.

Was there ever any doubt concerning the kinds of people BO would bring to the table?
The next 4 years will be as interesting a display of incompetence as anything see so far.
