New York Times Photographer On The Wrong Side

From a New York Times slideshow of “memorable photographs:”

12ask.slide21.jpg

A sniper loyal to Shiite cleric Moqtada al Sadr fires towards U.S. positions in the cemetery in Najaf, Iraq.
Michele McNally: “Right there with the Mahdi army. Incredible courage.”

Got that? The New York Times has photographers embedded with the terrorists as they shoot at and kill our soldiers. Think these photographers/journalists provided any information about the terrorists to U.S. forces so that our troops could capture/kill the people who are trying to kill them?
I wouldn’t bet on it.
And Times managing photo editor Michele McNally thinks this is an act of “courage.”
Unbelievable.

I was a news photographer when I was younger and in my mind at that time I also was less susceptible to mortality. I do have to admit that this photog has balls for getting this close to the enemy. I don’t know the details on what it took or how he did it but he deserves credit for crossing the line of self preservation. If I were him I wouldn’t try this stunt twice. The name “Nick Berg” should be in the back of his mind always.

Just one more example supporting NRA Marksmanship classes. What the fuck does that booboo think he is going to hit!

He may intending to extract an impacted canine.

2Hotel is right about him needing some lessons, thankfully. Also, it’s worth repeating that the guy is trying to shoot at a cemetary. Besides the obvious amusement value of this (exactly who is he going to kill if he hits anything?), it’s telling who is desecrating whose cultural memories.

Mickey, you assume that the terrorists woulde see a New York Times reporter as foe instead of a friend.

That’s absurd. We all know the reporters at the New York Times root for the terrorists and want their fellow countrymen to die violent deaths.

  • LoadTheMule

We may not know anything about the terrorist, but we certainly know who took the picture. Why isn’t s/he under arrest?

    Regards…

But why don’t you stick to calling us all Nazis for eating hamburgers and let the grown-ups talk.

The ritalin wearing off, big guy?

Having followed WOOF’s link, I’d say that we need to place a red force tracker on that photographer. Lovely aim point for a larger LGB.

What an amazing idea. Put a tracker on him without his knowledge, wait 2 weeks and fire a cruise missle to follow that tracker and odds are you’d hit a terrorist or two (who knows, maybe a “safe house” where he’s been invited to bunk overnight). Amazing…

This journalist is a traitor to America.

This indeed is over the top.

Maybe we can get the First Amendment Corps from Grand Fork’s media to explain to us thick heads how the First Amendment applies somewhere here.

Sorry, must be the whiskey talkin’….

He pulls that trigger and that scope will smack his stupid ass directly in the face.

Given the slant the Times gives its reporting I have little doubt that the terrorists see reporters for the paper as useful idiots.
