New York Times: Growing Doubts On Palin Take A Toll

This article from the New York Times makes it sound like Palin has really hurt McCain’s campaign:

A growing number of voters have concluded that Senator John McCain’s running mate, Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska, is not qualified to be vice president, weighing down the Republican ticket in the last days of the campaign, according to the latest New York Times/CBS News poll.

The article goes on and on like that…until we reach the end of the article and find this:

Over all, views of Ms. Palin were apparently shaped more by ideology and party than by gender…8 in 10 Democrats viewed her as unprepared, as well as more than 6 in 10 independents and 3 in 10 Republicans.

And then there’s this from the poll itself:

What is your biggest concern, if any, about (Barack Obama/John McCain) as a candidate for President?

Two percent answered that question with “Vice President.”

Seems to me like this poll was more about finding data to support the preconceived opinions about Sarah Palin of the New York Times staff than about gauging actual public opinion.

Palin has the left beside themselves with hatred.  It’d be almost funny to observe if we weren’t all so weary from eight years of Bush derangement.
