New Theme

I've just finished preliminary work on a new theme for Say Anything. You should be seeing it now. It has a blue header with "Say Anything" in big white text. Try flushing your cookies if you're not seeing the new theme (though this shouldn't be necessary).

Please use this entry for posting comments on the theme's usability, and let me know if you experience any glitches. Remember to tell me what OS and browser you are using.

Minor cosmetic concerns aren't really worth mentioning quite yet... expect things to be changing a lot. I'm just looking for errors or major cosmetic glitches. The spell check stuff is being worked on, so don't fret about that.

Ditto for the latest versions for the Mac of FF, Mozilla, OmniWeb, Shiira, Camino, Opera and Netscape.  The only glitch I saw was with IE.  The left bar displayed at the bottom instead of where it should have been.  No worries, nobody cares about IE on the Mac anymore.

Hope that helps.

Yeah, MSIE/Mac users can use a browser from this millenium before they start complaining. grin

Glad to hear it’s working in all those other Mac browsers!

Mark does a great job, doesn’t he?  He did all the hard work, I just did the nit-picking.

He’s too humble to mention it himself, but if any of you have a website or blog that needs some work he’ll help you out.  His rates are reasonable and, as you can see, he does a fantastic job.

Also, checked out everything with a Windows XP Home machine in both Firefox and IE and everything looked great.

When leaving a comment, the comment box expands beyond the table border on the right.  IE 6.0.29, WIN XP Pro, 2002, SP2

Doesn’t seem to happen in Firefox

Ok, I see what MI is talking about.  Its also happening when I use IE.  When you start typing in the comment box it extends to the right into the sidebar.

I’m also using IE 6.0.29 but with Windows XP Home.

Took me by surprise this morning, you sneeky devil you! Looks good, and at 1900 EST the comment box is staying the same size. I am using Win XP on a Compaq Presario R3000. Now I am going to check out the chatroom. Later on, bro. And hey, Mark, excellent work!!!

Rob, modern instances,

I think I squashed that “magical resizing textarea in IE” bug.  Please confirm.  (I had it set to a percentage width, which apparently changes as soon as you start typing and the scroll bar goes active.  Good thing about a fixed width layout is that I can just set the pixel width and be done with it.)

I’m typing this in IE and its working fine.

Blockquotes are still obscuring the Gravatars in IE and Firefox though.
