NDGOP Convention Update: Oh Yeah, Hoeven’s Running For Senate

No insult intended to the governor, but after the hotly contested House race culminated in Rep. Rick Berg getting the nomination, Governor Hoeven’s speech to the convention (and subsequent floor demonstration featuring his typically awful campaign music) almost seemed like an afterthought.
Everyone here expects Hoeven to run away with the nomination. Sorum, who I wanted desperately to run a tough campaign against Hoeven (to make Hoeven a better candidate if nothing else), squandered the opportunity.
Everyone here also expects Hoeven to run away with the election. Democrats are running a limp noodle named Tracy Potter against Hoeven who is currently campaigning so awful (17% to Hoeven’s 71% in a Rasmussen poll) that Joe Biden canceled a trip to North Dakota to speak at their state convention.
So when the floor demonstration commenced, “perfunctory” is the word that came to mind.
