ND Measure 4 Videos

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

I got these two video’s from the ND Chamber of Commerce.  While I was sure on how to vote on the first three initiatives (yes, yes, no) I’ve been a bit unsure on the third.  I’ve asked around and I’ve heard people I respect have differing opinions.

I’m still really not sure, but these videos, expecially the second one, make a good case to vote no.

Really, Whistler, you think these are good ad?  Way too wordy.  The guy sounds like he is testifying before a legislative committee.

Yeah, better they be flashy and superficial and devoid of information like an Obama ad.

Nice try, Rob, but seriously, how long do you pay attention to an ad on TV?

Usually not at all, Puzzled (I have DVR), but the nature of political advertising has changed.

See, there’s this thing called “the internet” and these websites called “blogs” and people who are interested about politics use these things to learn about and discuss political issues important to them.

Thus, relatively short informational videos like the ones above are important.

Though I understand, you being a liberal and all, that you’d prefer to keep these sort of things dumbed down.

Exactly, my point Rob.  You don’t have to get so snarky tonight! I was simply pointing out that political junkies like you and me would actual watch the ad for content and message, not matter the length.  But most folks are on their way to the fridge or restroom during a commercial so an add that is over 1 minute and sounds like testimony is not going to hold anyone’s attention.

So if you want to continue to be snarky, then by all means have at it.

“Exactly, my point Rob.  You don’t have to get so snarky tonight!” This from the Queen Bitch of Snark. Too fucking funny.

I guess if you have substantive information on measure 4 why don’t you post it Puzzled?

Of course coming from you I’d expect it to be heavily salted with phrases like “running dog capitalists” and “when the workers control the means of production…”

5% of Americans pay 60% of the income tax.
10% of Americans pay 70% of the income tax.

When the “workers” control the “means” of “production” everything goes to shit. RE Venezuela. And Cuba. Don’t forget Russia(USSR and the current thugocray), France, Italy, et al.
