ND State Rep Recovering After Farming Accident

State Senator Joe Miller, who beat out state Senator Curtis Olafson in a primary after redistricting put them in the same legislative district, had a farming accident on Monday. From this report the accident was quite serious, but it appears as though Miller is recovering.

Joe Miller had a payloader roll over on him. Miller says he was off the payloader and it rolled back, pinned him to the car. The car moved and Miller fell to the ground. The payloader’s rear tire pinned him, broke his pelvis in five places and tore some knee ligaments.

Miller was hauling scrap iron on the family farm near Fordville.

Miller’s very glad to be able to tell about this too. Miller says his guardian angel was “working overtime on that.”

Apparently the knee will require surgery in a couple of weeks, but the pelvis won’t. I’m not sure how it’s possible to break one’s pelvis in five places and not require surgery, but regardless it’s nice to hear that Miller is recovering.
