NBC Reporter Goes Undercover At Hacker Convention, Gets Caught

This has been in a lot of headlines just recently.  I guess some hackers decided to get together and hold a conference, and NBC sent a reporter undercover to document what went on inside.  She got caught, and ended up having to do a walk of shame out of the convention area.

A word of advice to NBC: If you’re going to send someone undercover to a computer geek fest, it’s probably not a good idea to choose an attractive blond woman for the job.

Because I’m certain that’s what tipped them off.

One of the longer “perp walks” in the history of the genre! Her detractors should have quit while they were ahead. Towards the end, their taunting just sounded like mean, geeky adolescents.

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

Rob, shame on you!  mad
You catch spot a non-hacker within the first 15 minutes of holding a conversation with them. Not only does this expose their intellectual knowledge but, their disinterest and boredom can not be disguised.
YOU CAN NOT differentiate tech/hackers from non-tech/hackers simply on looks ...thank you very much! tongue wink

Ya can’t tell me NBC does not have an entire floor in Rock Center jammed full of geeks. Hell, NBC employees were probably their for the hack-a-thon.

And this reporter’s woes have only just begun. Attack of the nerds, indeed!

Yikes! I don’t feel a bit sorry for her, though. If you’re not clever enough to not get caught by a bunch like this then, well, tough.

And I thought their heckling was rather good natured. If she had been caught at the Yearly Kos it would have been ugly, vulgar, and possibly even dangerous.
