Nancy’s Boy: Earl Pomeroy Says “I Vote With Nancy Pelosi To Advance North Dakota”
If you listened to today’s debate you were probably as unimpressed with I was (hint: the problem was moderator Jim Shaw who is another of the old-school media gatekeepers who really needs to be put out to pasture), but Pomeroy did make one eye-raising remark that the Berg campaign is already capitalizing on.
From a press release sent out by the Berg campaign:
FARGO- At the second debate between incumbent Democrat Earl Pomeroy and Republican challenger Rick Berg hosted by North Dakota Broadcasters Association at the Holiday Inn in Fargo this afternoon, Pomeroy said that he votes for Nancy Pelosi to advance North Dakota.
When questioned for his response to the criticism that he votes often along party lines with President Obama and Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Earl Pomeroy concluded his remarks with, “I am voting for Nancy Pelosi to advance North Dakota. And that is just how it goes.”
Berg stood shocked at the podium and responded, “I am just stunned. I heard that you were voting with Nancy Pelosi to advance North Dakota?” Berg continued, “If the question is how often I would vote with Nancy Pelosi, I would not vote with her on the government healthcare takeover, I would not vote for increasing the deficit to $14 trillion that is not being paid back, I would not vote the bailouts, the takeovers, the stimulus, I would not vote with Nancy Pelosi, and I would not support Nancy Pelosi as Speaker.”
Pelosi is, of course, pro-Obamacare, pro-stimulus and pro-bailouts. And North Dakotans oppose these things. But North Dakotans would find Pelosi much more objectionable on issues far beyond these.
For instance, Pelosi has a lifetime “F” rating from the NRA, and an “F-” from the Gun Owners of America. She has a 100% rating from the pro-abortion group NARAL and voted against banning partial-birth abortion. She voted for the “stimulus” spending spree, the auto bailouts, the additional $60 billion “stimulus II” and the bank bailouts. She has just a 34% rating from the Chamber of Commerce on business issues, and she voted against a fence along the border with Mexico to deter illegal immigration.
You can find all this, and more, right here. And remember, Pomeroy votes with her roughly 97% of the time.
I think it’s high time we had a Representative who represented North Dakota and not Berkley.Tags: Earl Pomeroy, election 2010, nancy pelosi, North Dakota News, Rick Berg
