Nancy Pelosi Wants To Limit Free Speech Of Conservatives

You see, conservative talk radio is a huge advantage for Republicans. Nancy Pelosi would like to remove that advantage. Because denying conservative talkers the right to free speech is “fair.”

Some of you, apparently, are too stupid to be free. Worse, your obtuse opinions are reinforced three hours daily by unsanctioned, fanatical talk-radio troglodytes.
This, I’m afraid, is a sin against fairness. Now, if only you had some more information. Because God knows, you’re being deprived of media choices now. So it’s time for re-education, or so sayeth Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. . . .
When asked this week if she supported revival of the Fairness Doctrine, Pelosi answered, reportedly without hesitation: “Yes.” In 2007, according to the conservative American Spectator magazine, a Pelosi adviser had said, “Conservative radio is a huge threat and political advantage for Republicans, and we have had to find a way to limit it.”
Finding a way to “limit” free speech for partisan advantage is a tactic Richard Nixon would have admired (though he typically had the decency to do such things clandestinely) but not a tactic we expect from a lawmaker who claimed she was bringing a new day to Washington.
Unless, of course, by “new” she meant a new day for the Sedition Act.

That Democrats would complain about conservative talk radio when they already enjoy the sympathies, and often outright support, of a majority of the nation’s journalists is just plain laughable.
I find it deplorable that the New York Times, ostensibly an objective media outlet, is all but in the bag for Democrats. But I’m not about to support any sort of limits or regulations on what the Times can and cannot print.
Because that’s not in keeping with the ideals of freedom. It’s just too bad that more Democrats aren’t on board with those ideals.

Gee Neiman, I guess that is the advantage of posting on the front page of your own blog.

  • robert108

db: Actually, conservative talk radio is employed full time exposing the lies of you lefties. There is no shortage of such work; in fact, we have a backlog.

  • Neiman

Yeah, take posts from others and take the credit. You are right it is his blog, he is the absolute dicatator and other than you front page folk, the rest of us are crap!

The best thing that republicant talk radio and blogs do is expose the hatred, bigotry, and stupidity of the right.

Funny! You’re the only one around here using the “N” word!
I guess there’s just MORE hatred, bigotry, and stupidity on the LEFT!

Obviously, Danny Boy has never listened to Republican talk radio.

The more you talk, the smarter the rest of us become.

    LOL

You weren’t exactly the top of your class, were you Danny Boy.

Funny, Dannyboy, that’s exactly what I feel about the NY & LA Times. And while talk radio is growing, those two liberal “news”papers are continuing to see their circulation drop. And when you talk about hatred, I think you need to take a closer look at the media outlets you prefer. I have never heard as many personal attacks as I hear on CNN, MSNBC, C-BS, etc.

Don’t get me wrong, I think they have just as much RIGHT to say whatever they choose. But I don’t want to hear them whine about declining viewership as the American people continue to tune out.

but he obviously is unaware of what appears on his blog!

If by that, do you mean, does he read every bit of breathless prose posted on the Reader Blogs? No. But, then, neither do I! I usually at least scan the headlines on both the front page and reader blogs before I post something, to try to avoid repetition. There have been times when I posted something on the Reader Blogs and Rob posted on the same subject, but with a slightly different take.
And why would you want it any other way? If you couldn’t say what you wanted to say on your own blog, because somebody said something similar first? What fun would that be?

  • http://www.kenmccracken.blogspot.com/ Ken McCracken

    Oh get over it Neiman.

You know damn well that Rob gives credit to the reader blogs, and closes comments so they come here.

That piece has been making the rounds, and Rob may well have found it without your help.

The world does not revolve around you.

  • Neiman

I see you want another fight heh McCracken?

  • Neiman

Isn’t it odd that when I posted this on the Reader Blogs before Rob posted it here, there were seven comments; Rob posts it and already there are eight in just a short time frame?

  • Neiman

Like I said, it looks like you want another fight! Well, you bore me and I don’t want to play!

This is his blog, I posted my story yesterday, but he obviously is unaware of what appears on his blog! I realize the world really surrounds you and your massive megalomania!

Liberalism only thrives in the absence of other ideas. That’s why enemies of liberalism must be bullied into silence.

Just one time for danny: there is no republican radio or TV. There are the opposite, in my opinion in the names of Air America and MSNBC/KeithO.

    republicant talk radio

Free enterprise and freedom loving Americans will choose the right (correct) and logical as well as truth every time over lies and deception from the socialists.
