Nancy Pelosi: The Eric Holder Contempt Vote Is About Republicans Wanting To Suppress Voters
“They’re going after Eric Holder because he is supporting measures to overturn these voter suppression initiatives in the states,” said Pelosi referring to Holder’s hostility to voter ID laws in addition to other state efforts to secure the ballot box from voter fraud. “This is no accident, it is no coincidence. It is a plan on the part of Republicans.”
“These folks want a plutocracy where instead of the choice of the many the checks of the very very few determine the outcomes of elections,” she said.
According to Beltway Confidential, “Pelosi denied that Operation Fast and Furious is the real cause of the investigation and contempt charge. “These very same people who are holding him in contempt are part of a nationwide scheme to suppress the vote,” she said of her congressional colleagues. “It is connected. It’s clear as can be. It’s not only to monopolize his time, it’s to undermine his name.”
So, according to Pelosi, Republicans planned and educated the Operation Fast And Furious debacle themselves just so that they could embroil Holder in this controversy and besmirch his good name, all as a ruse to undermine his efforts to stop state-level voter integrity initiatives.
Sounds…plausible?
Or maybe Nancy Pelosi is just a hack looking to distract from the real scandal.
