Murtha Will Have To Testify In Defamation Hearing

This is going to be good.

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge refused Friday to dismiss a defamation case against Rep. John P. Murtha and ordered the Pennsylvania Democrat to give a sworn deposition about his comments alleging “cold-blooded murder and war crimes” by unnamed soldiers in connection with Iraqi civilian deaths.

A Marine Corps sergeant is suing the 18-term congressman for making the charge, which the soldier claims is false. Murtha, who opposes the Iraq war, made the comment during a May, 2006 Capitol Hill news conference in which he predicted that a Pentagon war crimes investigation will show Marines killed dozens of innocent Iraqi civilians in Haditha in 2005.

Murtha’s office declined to comment on the ruling.

I, for one, am looking forward to seeing Murtha on the stand and squirming under questioning about why he thought it was ok to besmirch the character of some of our soldiers in order to further his political agenda.

Johnboy will merely stutter and bluster and settle out of court. He will pay off with some of the millions he has stolen while in Congress and it will actually cost him nothing.

To quote a line from the old movie, “Short Circuit”.....I’m sporting a tremendous woody.

Not only will this help to expose Murtha for what he is in such a way that the MSM won’t even ber able to gloss it over, it will set the precedent of holding our elected clowns accountable for what they say.

This is a very satisfying decision.

I wish it would shake out that way, Pil, it just ain’t. He will never let it get to a public forum in which he has to admit to any wrong doing. Johnboy always settles out of court and immediately gets in front of a camera and proclaims himself innocent. He has done so at least 5 times I remember. He is a politician, and knows how to game the system. That is how he escaped prosecution in ABSCAM, and he uses that same template every time.

I would far and away rather see the video of him getting bitch slapped by a double amputee Jarhead, and his Secret Service detail holding back. I would pay good money to see that!

No only did he defame the military before they had the rights to ‘innocent until proven guilty’, he made these false accusations during an election year, on National TV which offered no rebuttal whereby inevitably swayed voter opinion.
