MSNBC Hosts Apparently All Work Off The Same Talking Points Memo

The other day Fargo talk radio host Scott Hennen was blasted on MSNBC three different times for an interview he did with Dick Cheney. Once by Chris Matthews, once by Keith Olbermann and once by Rachel Maddow. So anyone watching MSNBC during prime time that night were treated to pretty much the exact same story. Three different times.
Since Scott is a friend (full disclosure: I’ve got a show myself on his station) I picked up on the stories. I thought it was odd, but chalked it up to the folks at MSNBC hating Dick Cheney. A lot.
But tonight the same thing is happening, this time with Sarah Palin and her new book. Chris Matthews has already basically implied that she’s illiterate, and (before it’s even been written) that the book is an “embarrassment”:

Then Keith Olbermann teed off on it with a Murrowesque diatribe including making up phony, juvenile pretend titles for the book.

Actually, if you take the time to listen to these people, you will understand that while the stories might be the same, the analysis different. Take Rob’s stance on Gay’s in the military. Not a view point agreed upon by old time conservatives.

There was a theme on MSNBC. All pointing to Palin being ignorant or stupid. And based on zero fact. At least Rob does research, and has interesting coorelations to point out to back up his analysis. Palin is just being crucified for being a conservative.

Is it possible that, since these are shows on at different times of the day, they would have similar or identical stories? For those that watch Matthews over Olberman and vice-versa?

All news sources do this; do you get upset when the 6 o’clock news has similar stories or the exact same stories as the 10 or 11 o’clock? She is a national figure after all, so it does seem logical that it would be a secondary lead story.

Or is this all because they ridiculed her book?

I vaguely recall reading a story some time ago about how Robert Gibbs (WH Press Secretary) and Raum Emmanuel (WH Chief of Staff) have a daily meeting with James Carville (CNN) and folks from MSNBC in which they run down the daily talking points.

GE, the parent of MSNBC, used to be one of the two most admired corporations in the world back when Jack Welch headed up the organization. And Welch and Roberto Goitzuetta were regarded as the two best CEOs in American. But Welch’s successor, Immelt, is a devout leftwinger who has run GE into the ground and destroyed the vast majority of his shareholders’ equity in the process. One more example of the fiscal and economic ineptitude of the those on the Left.

That is laughable. Rob does not do research. He posts articles from other conservative sources and sometimes adds inane commentary.

I have pointed out numerous times where he has gotten the story wrong because of lack of research.
