MSNBC: Mitt Romney’s Hurricane Fundraiser Against Red Cross Guidelines
6:58pm
Just in case you thought MSNBC couldn’t get any more pathetic:

Per Andrea Mitchell, the problem is that Romney was calling for canned goods and clothing and such when the Red Cross prefers cash donations. Oh and they hit him for holding the fundraiser in Ohio and not in the hurricane zone.
Because it, uh, makes sense to hold a fundraiser for hurricane victims in among the hurricane victims?
Martin Bashir got in on the action too:
This, in case you were wondering, is the left trying to manufacture a gaffe for a surging Romney and falling flat on their faces. Does the Red Cross prefer cash over goods donations? Probably. Does that make what the Romney campaign was trying to do a bad gesture? Absolutely not.
Leave it to Democrats to denounce charitable work because the person doing it belongs to the wrong political party.
By the way, who made the Red Cross the arbiter of all charitable giving? There are other charities, like the Salvation Army, that would probably be happy to accept Romney’s contributions.
