MoveOn.org Coordinates With Democrats “Daily”
After MoveOn.org slimed General Petraeus with the now-infamous “Betray Us” ad, Democrats were quick to distance themselves. They claimed that they didn’t have anything to do with the ad. Yet now the New York Times, of all places, reports that MoveOn.org and Congressional Democrat leaders get together on daily conference calls to “coordinate efforts.”
MoveOn representatives also take part, as co-founders of a coalition of antiwar groups together under the umbrella Americans Against Escalation in Iraq, in a daily conference call with the Democratic leadership staff on Capitol Hill to coordinate efforts.
Sixty-five years ago it would have been unimaginable for any but the most radical, marginalized political group to call General Eisenhower a traitor. Yet today it comes from a group with bonds so tight to the Democrats that they get daily access to the party’s legislative leadership.
