Move Completed

As you’ve probably noticed by now there have been some changes to Say Anything.  The visible changes are small, but the background changes are pretty major.  Say Anything has been moved off Movable Type to Expression Engine.

For the most part this move was done in anticipation of future developments I plan for Say Anything.  For today these are some of the changes you will see:

  1. Unregistered users will see a captcha that must be filled out before a comment will be added.
  2. Users can now register.  Registering will allow users to avoid having to enter the captcha when they comment.  It will also allow users to take advantage of future SA features like reader blogs, etc.  Those of you who had logins on the old site should already be set up with an account.  Try logging in with your old username/password first.  If that doesn’t work try the “forgot password” feature first.  If it still doesn’t work and we’ll figure it out.
  3. Some items, such as archives, have been moved off the front page.  You can access those things through the menu bar now located under the header.

We’re still working on making sure that everything works.  If you could all click around a bit and test things out and then report any problems in the comments on this post I would appreciate it.

Update: Not all of the author logins made it from Movable Type, so if you’re having problems email me.

Also, comment subscriptions didn’t not make it through, so if you were following a thread you may need to go back to it and resubscribe.

Whoops, no.  We’ll get that back.

Sorry.

You really thought I was that dumb that I didn’t get that?

Don’t answer that.

TW:

Well, let’s test whether you are. Answer these questions three two:

  1. How do you spell the word “certitude”.
  2. What’s the distance between two mile marks
  3. What’s your favorite color?
Carrick on September 23, 2006 at 08:34 pm

1.  sea, eee, arr, tea, eye, tea, you, dee, eee.  I’m pretty sure about that.

2.  One mile

3.  Blue no red, no.....Arrrrrrrr

One for you, where does the white go when snow melts.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

Very nice.

The “white” in snow is a structural color, related to the crystalline nature of the snow.  When the snow melts, the structure of the water changes, destroying the color “white”.  Ha, even my cat knows that (the black one, the callico’s head is to small for a brain to fit).

Carrick, if you don’t know just admit it. Don’t make up a bunch of mumble jumble and confuse the young kids that read this blog.

wink
