Most Corrupt Political Figures Of 2007 List Includes Pelosi, Reid, Feinstein And…Huckabee

Here’s some of the entries from the list by Judicial Watch:

* Senator Diane Feinstein (D-CA): ...Feinstein reviewed military construction government contracts, some of which were ultimately awarded to URS Corporation and Perini, companies then owned by Feinstein’s husband, Richard Blum…

* Governor Mike Huckabee (R-AR): ...“[Huckabee’s] career has also been colored by 14 ethics complaints and a volley of questions about his integrity, ranging from his management of campaign cash to his use of a nonprofit organization to subsidize his income to his destruction of state computer files on his way out of the governor’s office...”

* Senator Barack Obama (D-IL): ...n 2007, more reports surfaced of deeper and suspicious business and political connections It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed…

* Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA): ...snuck a $25 million gift to her husband, Paul Pelosi, in a $15 billion Water Resources Development Act recently passed by Congress. The pet project involved renovating ports in Speaker Pelosi’s home base of San Francisco. Pelosi just happens to own apartment buildings near the areas targeted for improvement, and will almost certainly experience a significant boost in property value as a result of his wife’s earmark…

* Senator Harry Reid (D-NV): ...over the last four years, Reid has used his influence in Washington to help a developer, Havey Whittemore, clear obstacles for a profitable real estate deal. As the project advanced, the Times reported, “Reid received tens of thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from Whittemore.” Whittemore also hired one of Reid’s sons (Leif) as his personal lawyer…

Hillary Clinton and Rudy Giuliani also made the list, but Huckabee’s inclusion will probably surprise a lot of people.

It’s worth noting that, prior to his surge in the primary polls, Huck has been something of an unknown figure that hasn’t gotten a lot of scrutiny.  He’s getting it now, but will it be too little too late?  Will Republicans nominate him before all of his skeletons in the closet are exposed leaving those skeletons to be exposed during the general election campaign?

That, my friends, would be a catastrophe.  Which is exactly why Republicans should be looking at candidates other than Huckabee.

Rob,

Since we are actually on the same side on this Huckabee issue, there is some good news.  Every poll NOT done by the MSM in Iowa recently has Huckabee and Romney in a dead heat.  Huck was up by as much as 16 points.

Today Rasmussen has Huckabee falling out of first place nationally for the first time in about a month.

All of these polls were taken BEFORE Huck made all his Pakistan gaffs.

THE PROBLEM:
The problem is this.  Most of Huck’s dedicated base, evangelicals, DO NOT pay attention to the secular news.  They pay attention only to what they hear in Church.  There is a very good chance that his core base will go to the polls in Iowa having NO IDEA any of this negative stuff has come out.

If, despite pretty much 100% negatives and missteps from this doofus over the past month, he wins Iowa, evangelicals will be exposed as ignorant, one issue voters.  That’s unfortunate.

THE NEGATIVE FOR YOU:
Of course, the negative for the Romney Hater’s out there is this.  If Romney wins Iowa, he wins New Hampshire.  If that happens, he runs the table on the first 6 contests and its all over but the shouting.

If you truly do hate Romney, you need to pray for Huckabee that he gets his act together.

Huckabee is worse than Romney, but if either of them get the nomination I won’t be voting Republican this year.  Or Democrat.

I’ll probably just write in The Whistler.

This list should be titled, “Current Propaganda”. Any list of corrupt federal officials that in includes Craig for foot tapping instead of Bush and Cheney is more than questionable.

Pelosi, Feinstein, and Guiliani are the only obviously corrupt people on this list.

This is the most ignorant bunch of claptrap imaginable, it is pure, unadulterated Christian bashing and not even atheist Rob, in all his passionate promotion of Thompson and daily attacks against Huckabee has never descended to your gutter level of anti-Christian hatred and lies.

Evangelical Chrtistians as a group are the most politically aware, educated and intelligent people in America. While they, as did virtually all of our Founding Father’s, prefer Bible believing Christians as their candidates and elected officials, they understand better than a closed minded bigot like you, the issues that are at stake. They will vote for the eventual party nominee and as usual they will be the largest conservative voting block in the nation, unless low grade morons like you drive them away from the voting booth by your mindless bigotry.

We do not need liberals to sow seeds of division in the Republican Party, it is grossly ignorant people like you that will drive the Evangelicals out of the Party because of your anti-Christian bigotry and thus insure massive Democrat Victories for decades to come. If the Democrats have great victories in 2008, it will be damn fools like you that will make it possible.

Rob: You would insist that for the good of the country, evangelicals should vote for Thompson or Rudy even if they believe they are at best carnal Christians, but you are saying above if Huck or Mitt get the nomination in a fit of pique you will say screw the country, I won’t vote for them. I don’t believe it, you will not be that closed minded and suicidal, you are a better man than that!

I was going to ask Rob and the other more secular Conservatives if Huckabee were nominated (which is a better than even chance at this point) will Rob and others of his fiscal conservatism but secular worldview support the Republican Nominee against Hillarly or Obama.

I guess we have our answer.

So, how bout a 3rd party act of desperation with Paul / Thompson.  Yea, that’s the ticket,

Then we can say Pres Obama or Pres Hillary for sure.

It worked out so well with Perot and we got 8 years of Clinton.

We will need a hold your nose and vote to get an R in the white house.  I’m voting R no matter who they put up.  Even (God Forbid) Ron Paul.

Please consider doing the same.  Huckabee might surprise you, or don’t vote and insure no surprises with another D in the white house.

I’m going to assume that this “I’ll not vote” is a statement of passion and not of conviction.

In the end, Huckabee may not be a perfect candidate but he can win IF we support him after he becomes the nominee.

Otherwise it’s Madam Pres and First Guy Bill.  Yuck!

Gene, better an Obama or Hillary presidency than a wolf in sheeps clothing like Huckabee in the oval office.

Better the devil we know.

I’m not voting for someone simply because their conservative.  As far as Huckabee is concerned, conservatism means more than being pro-life and anti-gay marriage.  If you’re a fiscal populist like Huckabee is, I’m not voting for you.

Because for me, politics isn’t a football game where I’m just rooting for “my side” to win.

Gene: Rob is saying he hates Christianity so much, he would rather have Obama and Hillary than take a chance anyone with Christian values could get in the White House. I support Fred Thompson and I am against Huckabee, but I am not such a bigot as Rob and Billy Mitchell that I am willing to cut off my nose to spite my face. I hate ther idea of Huckabee winning, there are too many issues where he scares me, but Hillary, Obama and Edwards represent clear and present dangers to the security and prosperity of the Uniteds States.

“The wackos get their information through the Christian right, Christian radio, mail, the internet and telephone trees…Simply put, we want to bring out the wackos to vote against something and make sure the rest of the public lets the whole thing slip past them.”

This is just more anti-Christian bigotry, which is becoming more and more evident at Say Anything. I am an evangelical, my family and friends are evangelical, some vote Democratic, most Republican; but everyone of them read newspapers daily, watch cable news like FOX and visit a wide variety of blogs. Any suggestion on evangelical ignorance or being whacko’s is pure, unadulterated anti-Christian bigotry with a deliberate, malicious disregard for the Tuth.

Why Aren’t Republicans On Offense?
What cowardice to turn off comments for this thread! The truth is, if evangelicals said exactly the same thing about sitting out voting in the nomination process or general election if the right Christian conservative wasn’t nominated, you would throw a damn hissy fit. You are a hypocrite on this matter and for the first time since I have commented at SA, you are demonstrating raging anti-Christian bigotry!

Oh contraire Neiman, you wanted me to believe that anti Christian bigotry “is becoming more and more evident at Say Anything” and I am simply pointing out that deep in the bowels of gop power center there is anti Christian bigotry.

By mentioning it, I am by no means denigrating Christians, I am however denigrating the gop power brokers who have abused the trust Christians have placed in the gop, unless the Christian in question is a bush swallower. Then Neiman, we will have different chat. (Sorry Gene)

Nieman, ever hear of David Kuo?

Perhaps I misunderstood what you were trying to say. Any chance you were being a bit unclear about your message? If not, please explain why I missed the point you were making based on your words. I agree with the statement above generally, but I didn’t read that anywhere and I am still not perfectly sure about what you are saying!

David Kuo? I went on the internet to remind myself, and he is not exactly a well recognized person is he? He said he doesn’t doubt Bush’ sincerity or commitment to Christians or that of many in the White House, he was however disallusioned by the results versus the promises and the apathy of the Republicans in Congress. Yes, the GOP has often lied and misled Christians to get their votes with very little in the way of keeping their promises. I don’t see the GOP and Christianity as synonymous and there are good Christians in the Democrat Party. But, historically the Left have introduced, supported and passed almost all the anti-Christian legislation since 1962; and most anti-Christian judicial decisions have been made by liberal judges.

So, there is a strong and I believe a correct tendency for Christians to not vote with the Left, and you make a case for their not voting with the Right; so they have no real home in American politics and perhaps that is a good message and place for Christians to be, completely outside politics, which guarantees Democrat Victories as far as the eye can see.

Actually, according to InTradeMike Huckabee’s chances of getting the GOP nomination are no better than one in eight and a half.  Today’s contract price is 15.

For reference, Judicial Watch was started by an evangelical, Larry Klayman, and thus it’s kinda hard to say that any claims like those made by Mr. Mitchell have any validity.  I’m one of those “fundagelicals”, and I read the papers, and most of the people I’ve known have been well informed.

Nice personal attack, though, Bill.  How’s Reagan’s 11th Commandment coming along for you?

Regarding the actual conclusion of Judicial Watch, look at the text.  Huckabee’s had some “complaints,” but they’re not referring to anything “confirmed.” Unfortunately, Judicial Watch does have a history, here repeated, of taking unsubstantiated accusations to the press and to the courts.

Well that at least explains Clinton getting the number one billing.

Gene,

Being a free markets type of guy, I find myself more trusting of InTrade than the latest polls, no matter who the pollster.  If I recall correctly, most polls had Gore winning in 2000 and Kerry in 2004.

Polls, it seems to me, are analogous to all those pundits and Pooh-Bahs who’ve managed to piously predict seven of our nation’s past three recessions.

Besides, Mr. Huckabee’s evangelical faith is no more important a predicate of his success as president than Romney’s Mormon faith… or the fact that either of them may be left-handed.  Its the policies each espouses, measured against his past accomplishments that should be of concern to any serious voter.

No surprise that Huckabee would land on the Judicial Watch’s list. Any man who would tax nursing home bed occupancy, and throw the nation’s borders wide open, I don’t trust this man at all.

Reagan’s 11th Commandment?

First make sure the guy REALLY IS on your side! ESPECIALLY before you let him at your back!

Don’t talk to me about criticizing fellow GOP members, or supposed Conservatives - this is the time when the tares must come out - you never grind them into the wheat for your bread!
It’s a job that must be done - you don’t poison your own family by trying to be polite about tares. The wheat can take it - they can take having their chaff removed, as well.

Me too, I won’t vote for any RINOS. And no, I won’t vote for Dims, either.

And NO! A refusal to vote for GOP SOCIALISTS is NOT a vote for DIM Socialists.

And I won’t stay home - I will go vote for a write-in Conservative, Whistler sounds good to me.

I also like Ann Coulter, Oliver North, Franklin Graham, and few other good men!
Make those elections clerks suffer, stay up later, lose sleep - to make the lists of write-ins, and have to do the extra column tallies and reports! Makes the party leadership work harder on the analysis, too!

Just a note to the moderates out there who still really do want to defeat the Dims, and think the Conservatives should join them in agreement on one candidate.

I applaud your sincere efforts to defeat the Dims.

But I want to point out something for you to consider BEFORE YOUR PRIMARY VOTE:

Fewer than 1/4 of Conservative Christians vote in the Primary, and about or a little less than 1/2 of them vote in the General Election.
Now a lot of people have been working very very hard this last two years to get th em to change that, and show up for the Primaries, if they are interested in picking a candidate they are willing to vote for and support for the General Election, rather than whine about who the more secular voters choose FOR them.

Maybe they will, maybe they won’t. Personally, I don’t think it looks good, because they hate most of the GOP candidates and will generally stay home before repeating the Perot mistakes and finding out what a big butt buddy of Clinton’s that Perot really was, making them all feel like SUCKERS for trying to fight for real change!

Worse than THAT, we have a year in which it is a relatively safe bet that there will be an inordinately large number of DIMS crossing over to vote in the GOP Primaries, to help influence a pick for a RINO so far LEFT that they know many many GOP voters simply won’t bother to vote in the General Election!
THAT IS HOW McCAIN WON HIS LAST RE-ELECTION TO THE SENATE - is by the overwhelming support of the Democrats, when the GOP was working very hard to get him OUT of office!!!

What I am most worried about is that the Moderates WILL get to choose THEIR OWN PICK of a GOP candidate IN THE VACUUM OF NON-PRIMARY-voting Christians and Conservatives - and thus will pick a RINO candidate that the Conservatives will sure enough stay home for, in Nov. and watch the Moderates go down in flames - i.e. Gerald Ford, and Robert Dole!

So I am begging people to think about their neighbors BEFORE the Primaries, as late as it is - and talk to your firends and neighbors and try to get a sense of a GENERAL consensus before you vote for someone that you cannot bully the rest into leaving their house to turn out for!

I guarantee, they are less and less inclined to violate their conscience in order to have a RINO with THEIR BLESSING who would go out and do the Arnold Schwartzeneggar Liberal Socialist stuff, while wearing THEIR names - and accomplish things Hillary could only dream of in her wildest imagination.

I’m not saying to reject YOUR favorite candidates - but please choose carefully, AND NOT just for “electability” (REMEMBER ARNOLD) - and try to WOO the potential voters who would make the greatest difference, instead of inflaming them against the GOP.

I say this as one who did a tremendous amount of pushing, shoving, pulling, cajoling, during the Bush Elections. These folks didn’t respond well at all to THAT and if the candidate is further Left than Bush Jr - they won’t come in for it! Period!

You moderates SEE a difference between the Rudis and Freds and the Hillaries and Obamas - but a lot of Americans DO NOT!  And you are NOT going to change their minds about it.

We need to work together. And I don’t offer you much hope the Conservative Christians will be much help at that!

All we can do is try our very very best! And PRAY!
