Mortgage Crisis Creating Tent Cities Outside Of LA

That’s what the BBC is reporting:

Of course, there were “tent cities” outside of LA as far back as 2005 (when there was nary a hint of a “subprime mortgage crisis) and probably longer with most of the denizens being there more in protest of their slum apartments being bulldozed for newer housing than anything else.

Sounds like now they’re just trying to stay topical.

Why would a Banker give a mortgage to people without steady employment? Somehow, I am thinking some of these people were not the best risks to make loans to???  Personally, If I were asked to loan someone a substantial sum of money I certainly would make sure they had steady employment. Silly me! I am just funny that way!
