More Thanks From the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders Than From The Senator Who Wants to be President

The Dissident Frogman points to a BLACKFIVE account of Barack Obama’s visit to Afghanistan from a G.I. there:

As the Soldiers where lined up to shake his hand, he blew them off and didn’t say a word as he went into the conference room to meet the General. As he finished, the vehicles took him to the ClamShell (pretty much a big top tent that military personnel can play basketball or work out in with weights) so he could take his publicity pictures playing basketball. He again shunned the opportunity to talk to Soldiers to thank them for their service.

So really he was just here to make a showing for the Americans back home that he is their candidate for President. I think that if you are going to make an effort to come all the way over here you would thank those that are providing the freedom that they are providing for you.

I swear we got more thanks from the NBA Basketball Players or the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders than from one of the Senators, who wants to be the President of the United States

Sounds like a big, carefully orchestrated photo op, rather than a “fact finding” tour! Maybe Barack can add zero time talking to the troops on the ground to the zero number of meetings his Senate subcommittee has held on Afghanistan!

President Bush never did this and I can’t imagine McCain being so callus.

You don’t have to be a moron to be a liberal Democrat but it sure helps.

How can you say such mean things about a man Europe and the MSM is praising as the savior of America and the world? Shame on you Proof! smile

In his heart he spoke to every soldier, after all they, absent Bush and Petraeus of course, have been praised by him for the success of the surge. I know he feels their pain!

No matter the age or state of health, for a military man it is always glorious to tilt at windmills, rescue a fair Dulcinea and be a gallant knight in armor in a glorious cause.

If Obama, who has absolutely no experience with anything remotely military, is unwilling to listen to what the generals are telling him, why would anyone think he’d bother with mere enlisted grunts?

I just hope obama’s injury doesn’t cause him long-term trouble.
What injury, you ask?
It seems that he’s twisted an ankle or sprained his hip.
As I watched him walking, I noticed a pronounced swing in his step.

I have had 2 reports from across the water that state the same thing. One from Iraq and one from Afghanistan. Both E7s with multiple tours. They have seen Congressional tours before, and are unimpressed with this one.

The man exhibits typical elitism.  He also is guilty of insensitivity and discrimination against those in uniform.  Not CINC material.  An empty suit.

What a concept. A man who wants to be in charge of our nation that is anti USA military? That doesn’t seem to fit somehow. Hmmm?

It would be noteworthy, if any evidence could be offered that it was true. He did show up on the news, eating with the troops. And by the way, did any of the other senators on this trip spend any time talking to the troops? Was there time for it, or were they rushed? Come on, people...if you don’t like the guy, fine, but if you want to try to crucify him, you ought to at least be able to substantiate the claims, to the same extent you’d expect if they were attacking YOUR guy.

I spend a major portion of the morning chasing the news cycle & seeing about any angle offered of the obama trip & meetings.
One thing I DID notice was how obama was the only one answering questions or giving speeches.
THe others just sat in the background.
Instead of a fact finding mission, it’s clearly a political rally trip.
I can’t count the number of times he said “when I’m President”, or “if I’m elected President”, or something close to that.

Or he compares himself to John McCain. Why would he do that in an audience that can’t vote for him?
He’s clearly putting on a gigantic photo op to fool the folks back home.

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

Well.....
Maybe he doesn’t realize the foreigners can’t vote for him.
After all, he thinks there’s 57 States AND that he’s on the Banking Committee.

RebTex on July 23, 2008 at 07:43 pm

Rebtex:  Remember John Kerry’s claim that cetain foreign leaders wanted him to be president?  That’s where this whole overseas Obama love-fest is heading.

I predict a campaign video of Obama in Berlin reminiscent of JFK’s famous “Ich Bein Berliner” speech.

why would a soldier lie?

I don’t know, crshedd. Why would YOU lie?

“some of the information that was put out in my e-mail was wrong.”

Or were you merely “wrong” in your choice of words?

proof,

read the original e-mail, it is real easy as it is linked.

capt porter writes the e-mail from his perspective of being there. he does not say anybody told him this.

yet when caught in this lie all of a sudden it isn’t his words, it is from some annoymous person.

so he either lied when he posted the e-mail by not crediting the ‘person who told him about it’ or he just made the whole thing up, ergo a lie.

just because a soldier says something does not make it true. one way or another a lie is being told here but since you will believe anything against a democrat you don’t care if it is a lie or not.

crshedd on July 29, 2008 at 12:04 am

Read it, you have yet to prove anyone lied in it. Try again, leftard.
