More On Obama’s Imploding 50 State Strategy: North Dakotans Are Embittered, Racist

Last night I posted on the news of Barack Obama pulling all of his staffers out of North Dakota, even after just announcing the opening of 5 additional campaign offices less than two weeks ago. Today the LA Times picked up the story and suggested that Obama was pulling out of the “embittered” red state (the article also notes that Obama’s pulled out of Idaho, Georgia and Alaska too)…because of race reasons.
That’s right, North Dakotans. Obama didn’t fail here because North Dakotans don’t like liberal Presidents. He failed here because North Dakotans are bitter. And racist, apparently.

Exactly 44 years after Lyndon B. Johnson became the last Democrat to capture the state of North Dakota in a presidential election, it looks like Barack Obama won’t be the next.
The Associated Press reported this evening and an Obama spokeswoman confirmed that the Chicago-based campaign is pulling its 50-some staffers out of the heavily Republican state full of embittered small towns and shipping the workers east to Minnesota and Wisconsin, where the Democrat’s prospects seem brighter and closer.
John Kerry did the best of recent Democrats there, getting 36% of the North Dakota vote in 2004 — 3 percentage points more than Al Gore in 2000.
The abandonment of at least one Midwestern state by Obama comes as a new AP poll indicates that race could play a significant role in deciding a close national election. Some experts estimate the first African American candidate of a major party might be as much as 6 percentage points more ahead if he wasn’t black.

“Embittered small towns.” That sounds like it was lifted right out of the Obama gaffe book. Remember when The One was talking to a bunch of rich San Francisco liberals about all the bitter, bible-thumping gun-clingers he’d met out in fly-over country? That is apparently how the liberals at the LA Times see North Dakotans as well.
Bitter. And racist too, apparently.
Obama giving up in North Dakota, where he’s invested a lot of resources (11 campaign offices, 50 staffers, addressing the state Democrat convention, etc.), is the first palpable loss for his campaign. And what excuse does the left go to immediately to explain away that loss?
Racism.
Expect to hear that excuse a lot more if things continue to go badly for Obama.

No one should be surprised race is being factored into his decline into obscurity. He is drawing smaller crowds, his elite attitude continues to turn away the independent voter. They are failing to tie him to Bush, try as they might – Palin is driving them to new lows. Just an aside – Obama has one office in Boston, MA, one – last polling end July/Early August: Suffolk University had McCain within 9 points of Obama, in Massachusetts. (Perhaps taking the Bluest State for Granted) A recent event in New Hampshire managed to draw 8,000 – which is not a huge amount considering the proximity to the Boston office and the posts on local newspaper sites pleading for supporters to head to New Hamphire.

So the fact that I’d never vote for a white guy with Obama’s policies and experiences means I’m racist.

I think it’s racist to vote FOR Obama if your only reason is that he’s black. On the other hand if you vote for Obama because he’s a commie-pinko then you’re not racist, only stupid.

On another note, wouldn’t “embittered small towners” be prime supporters of a politician like Obama.

Have you ever looked at a white paper while out in the sun? Have you ever looked at dark paper while out in the sun? Here is a hint: Light is absorbed and reflected by objects because the electrons in a substance react differently depending on the state the electrons are in. Electrons in white objects reflect almost all wavelengths of visible light and little of the the light is turned into heat (IR radiation), while black substances absorb nearly all of the wavelengths of light hitting it.

I submit that you call my comment racism because it impacts you on an emotional level. There is nothing that makes my comment racist except your imagination and emotion. There is no historical symbolism associated to the comment, nor is it derogatory in any way.

Now, as to whom it is that brings up race all the time. I submit to you:

I thought the game was to just work the battleground states. North Dakota isn’t a battleground state and doesn’t have hardly any delegates.
However, this is consistent with Obama’s wasteful record of spending.

Is the phrase “embittered small towns” a direct quote? Or is it the writer’s paraphrasing? Seems like someone is trying to plant the seeds of dissent in the conservative voter’s mind.

Given that this site regularly uses derogatory slurs to indicate half of our country is Racist, Stupid, Evil, Liars, Facist Sympathizers, and so on…. it’s pretty amusing that you feel so offended when they call you embittered. I’m afraid I’ll have to join Bob in voting for Barrack Hussein Bin Laden, at least until we can field a conservative president that can actually control our deficit (when was the last one? I genuinely can’t remember) and hopefully refrain from acting like a pin number when the private sector wants to access taxpayer money.

Regarding the Racism stuff…. extra hilarious. Examples from the 1800′s are always solid arguments for political rhetoric. I could point out that minorities overwhelming vote Democrat and use this to infer Republicans are racist, but that would make me EMBITTERED.

Polls are indicating that one third of people who identify themselves as Democrats claim they wont vote for Barry because of his ethnicity.

An example is the church that received grants. Obama never supported any stupid comment about white supremacy made by Pfleger. It is against her own wishes to talk about Obama being half white when discussing grants to chruches.

There is nothing about this story on the 50 state strategy that has to do with Obama making any claim about racism. Just this morning Obama said people will vote for him because he is black, and people won’t vote for him because he is black and it doesn’t matter.
