Minnesota Secretary Of State Trying To Intimidate Group Exposing Voter Registration Fraud

The folks at Minnesota Majority have been hard at work in their state attempt to uncover and expose voter registration fraud. To date, this is what they’ve exposed:

* POTENTIAL DUPLICATE VOTER REGISTRATION RECORDS: A total of 16,578 exact voter registration record matches using the criteria of first name, middle name, last name and birth year. When phone number is used instead of middle name as a matching criterion, there are a total of 488 matching records.
* VACANT AND NON-DELIVERABLE ADDRESSES: A total of 29,006 voters have a voter registration address which is flagged as being “vacant” by the United States Postal Service. A total of 62,822 voters list an address which is flagged as being “non-deliverable” by the Postal Service.
* DEFICIENT VOTER REGISTRATIONS DUE TO MISSING BIRTH YEAR: There are a total of 1,695 voter registrations with registration dates after August 1, 1983 when birth date was required by law.
* VOTER REGISTERING BEFORE THE AGE OF 18: Over 1,800 records have a voter registration date and a birth year that suggests the voter registered before the age of 18 years of age (some before they were born).
* VOTERS POTENTIALLY CASTING MORE THAN ONE BALLOT IN A SINGLE ELECTION: 76 cases in which it appears that a single voter may have cast more than one ballot, with thousands of additional records which merit additional review.

So for all their troubles in exposing these errors and fraud, what has the reaction been from Minnesota’s top election official Democrat Secretary of State Mark Ritchie? He’s accused one of the group’s volunteers of representing herself as working for the Secretary of State’s office:

Yesterday afternoon Secretary of State Mark Ritchie called a press conference alleging that Jean Sanford, a volunteer with Minnesota Majority, had inappropriately contacted a voter representing herself as working with the Secretary of State. Secretary Ritchie further asserted that the volunteer from Minnesota Majority was engaged in voter intimidation tactics.
“The complaint is completely frivolous and Mark Ritchie knows it,” said Jeff Davis, President of Minnesota Majority. In a sworn affidavit given today by Jean Sanford, she contradicts the voter’s complaint. Sanford said that she never represented herself as being associated with the Secretary of State.
“Jean is a sweet little grandma who is passionate about transparency in elections,” said Davis, “The voter’s own sworn statement indicates that he found Mrs. Sanford to be very kind. I can’t imagine how anyone could be intimidated by this lady.” Minnesota Majority believes that the voter, above all else, was concerned by the amount of information that is maintained on Minnesota’s public voter registration records.
“Mark Ritchie’s actions are simply a ruse to deflect attention away from the real issue at hand – the obvious problems with Minnesota’s voter registration records,” said Davis.

If this woman did, in fact, represent herself as working for the government then that’s a serious problem. But it’s not nearly as serious as the problems being exposed by Minnesota Majority. We need to have priorities here. We’re just a few days away from a national election, and rather than focusing on very real and pertinent evidence indicating fraud the Secretary of State is busy trying to bring down those digging up the evidence.
Making him the next in a long line of Democrat state election officials not interested in stopping voter registration fraud.

Voter registration fraud is bad. Has the credit card fraud funding Obamas campaign evr been investigated yet? I hope they find who did it and prosecute them to the fullest.

Good luck when the perp would be appointing the attorney general, Zsa Zsa. I don’t mean to be cynical here, but quite frankly, I grew up around Chicago, and the locals don’t clean up their own messes there. The state or the feds need to get involved before anything happens.

I’d like to comment on several of these alleged fraud issues:

    1. Duplicate registrations often happen because a voter moved or forgot he was alredy registered. There usually isn’t any deliberate fraud involved. Maybe sloppy records management. though.

    2. Vacant/undeliverable addresses: The U.S. Postal Service has rules regarding these which sometimes conflict with actual residency. For example, if you live in a condominium and the condo association fails to register you with USPS your unit is considered “vacant” by them. If you live with someone in an apartment without being on the lease and your name isn’t on the mailbox, the USPS won’t deliver mail to your name. I was personally challenged at an election in 1994 for just that situation.

    3. Missing birth year appears to be a legitimate procedural error. I agree such registrations should be deemed invalid but I wouldn’t exactly call them fraudulent per se.

    4. Registering before age 18 is legal in Minnesota as long as there isn’t an election between the person’s registration date and their 18th birthday. Depending on the local schedule for municipal elections, it can be legal to register at 16. Again, one can legally register in this state the day after the last election before one turns 18.

    5. Casting more than one ballot is clearly fraudulent and I have no issue with this complaint.

With all due respect, Mickey Mouse should be allowed to register to vote. I’ll tell you why. Mickey Mouse could well be a real human being who changed his name. Some states, like California, make changing your name legally very easy. There are over a dozen Jesus Holy Christs in the San Francisco Bay Area with valid, legal ID. In addition, who’s to say there aren’t other people with the same names as members of the Denver Broncos???? Please notice, I do think such people, if they exist, should have to prove it upon request. I support voter ID laws but I think the IDs should be free to avoid the “poll tax” issue. Mexico actually has photo IDs specifically for voting purposes, why can’t the USA do the same thing?

I have heard all kinds of arguments and defensive remarks from democrat politicians and officials about the fraudulent vote registration.

Even though they got “Mickey Mouse” and the entire team of “The Denver Broncos” registered to vote in numerous states, we should not be concerned. And this is just the tip of the iceberg as far as fraudulent voter applications go.

Good news, I saw where several democrat states will not allow “Mickey Mouse” to vote if he shows up. That really assures me all this process is honest and trustworthy.
He will not be allowed to vote, even if he brings Minnie Mouse to vouch for him.
    .

Well, how in the hell did these applications get registered.
Are you going to have the same group of people that passed on these registrations sitting out on the voting floor, verifying every character that animates through the door.

Enough about voting, reminds me of my favorite Walt Disney joke:
Minnie and Mickey Mouse are standing in front of a Judge in a divorce court.
The Judge addresses Mickey Mouse, “I am not granting you this divorce because you indicate Minnie Mouse is mentally unstable.”

Mickey Mouse responds, “Judge, I did not say she is mentally unstable, I said she was fucking Goofy.”

    I’m sorry..
    I apologize..
    I love corny jokes..
I will take one for the team..

There’s a democrat metaphor somewhere in that corny joke.

Maybe someone should look into voter registration fraud by the Republican party. I am sure there is some hillbilly in Kentucky who needs to be told where to place his “X”.

Maybe someone should look into voter registration fraud by the Republican party.

When talk of voter fraud comes up, there is usually some guilty leftist who pipes in, “duh, what about Republican fraud?”

How about this: voter fraud is wrong and should be investigated and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, period.

That it happens with such a stunning and regular frequency on the left doesn’t make it a partisan issue, ollie-B.

Ollie, for someone black, you are a mighty big racist, sometimes. Why is it you hate white people so much? I really don’t get it.

EB, That is sooooo funny! Thank you. I really needed that! Hahahahah…

John, with all due respect, I would tend to think that if a person renames himself “Mickey Mouse,” maybe the republic is better off NOT letting him vote. Just a hunch. :^)

And also, I met a couple while voting yesterday whose credentials to vote were suspect–expired license used as criteria to register. Sorry, but given that the margin of victory between Coleman and Franken was 1000 votes or so, I think that 80,000 bad registrations ARE something we need to act on. You are correct that there COULD BE an innocent explanation, but in an era when ACORN sends in hundreds of thousands of fraudulent registrations, we’ve got to start policing things a bit better.

Maybe we simply insist on current, valid ID to register to vote, and eliminate same day voter registration? It would at least be a good start.

Looks like this Democrat fraud enabler just doesn’t like people showing how bad of a job he’s doing.

It seems to me that CEO’s have to certify their companies performance under Sarbanes Oxely. These AG’s should be held to the same standards.

Here is the website of the Minnesota Secretary of State’s office. It has a contact form where you can gently suggest that he would do well to do his job and investigate likely fraudulent voter registrations.

Interesting how Voter Fraud is so openly acceptable these days among the Dems. They should be doing everything to rid their party of any association of fraudulent behavior. BUT instead they are trying very hard to enable these people to continue on as if nothing has happened.

It wolud be interesting to see how many of these fraudlent votes are going for BHO? This needs to be hammered and hammered.
