Michelle Vetoes Hillary

Per Real Clear Politics, Bob Novak reports that Michelle Obama has said “NO” to offering the VP slot to Hillary Clinton:

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Close-in supporters of Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential campaign are convinced he never will offer the vice presidential nomination to Sen. Hillary Clinton for one overriding reason: Michelle Obama.

The Democratic front-runner’s wife did not comment on other rival candidates for the party’s nomination, but she has been sniping at Clinton since last summer. According to Obama sources, those public utterances do not reveal the extent of her hostility.

There is a certain delicious irony to this situation, of course.  The Clintons were the first “two for the price of one” co-presidency, and Hillary’s entire campaign has been based on her self-styled “experience”, so Michelle Obama’s influence over her husband’s political decisions is not without a kind of exquisite precedent.

Still, as I have noted several times in the past few weeks, I believe that ultimately Michelle Obama is going to become a more troubling albatross for her husband during the general election campaign than anyone has thus far considered.  Vetoing her husband’s VP selection is merely Round One.  Jeremiah Wright and Otis Moss may yet find themselves in the back seat, while Michelle, a true believer, takes the wheel.

Probably wants Barack to live until Inauguration Day! Heh.

Those who think the party or the country, will be “taught a lesson” by handing the levers of power over to the liberals will learn a lesson, but it will be at the expense of our country and her liberties. And there are no guarantees that the party or the country will come out stronger, more conservative or better positioned to win elections against the incumbent liberals.

Yeah, Michelle Obama won’t be able to connect with blue-collar Americans. She won’t be able to compare with Cindy McCain since she comes such humble beginnings.

As I had previously posted, Michelle is pulling pinochio’s strings.

I find Michelle views just as troubling as Baracks. Yikes I can’t imagine an nation with those two at the helm. You won’t be able to question them, all you will ever hear is that is out of line. Yesh…

If you think Hillary was the power behind the throne during the Clinton years, just wait until THIS one gets in the White House.

Perfect! About a million years ago Mad Magazine’s Don Martin had two characters who would fit as well: Fester Bestertester and His Sidekick Karbuncle.

I got sent home from school because in my freshman bookeeping class (which bored me to tears) I had a copy of that magazine tucked into a bookkeeping workbook and couldn’t keep myself from laughing at it when I was supposed to be doing, well, bookkeeping stuff. Mt blue haired teacher was outraged.

I went fishing that day. It’s a fond memory, courtesy of Mad Magazine.

Otis Moss?  He’d be a lot better off with Otis Day!

I’m predicting William Ayers as Secretary of Education...or someone who shares Ayers views on education.

Zsa Zsa on May 10, 2008 at 07:35 pm

I 100% agree with your post Bat One…

Whereas Obama is slightly conscious that his facade is all in the name of gaining power, Michelle Obama believes the facade to be the essence to be real and thus be the power!

Bat One, you said it yourself…

Michelle, a true believer, takes the wheel.

Has anyone seen the play MACBETH?

Eventually, they’re both going to see the blood on their hands and have a mental break-down!  And in just the same paralell, Michelle is the one motivating Obama to do all the campaigning (killing).

dirl126 on May 11, 2008 at 04:49 pm

It’s a stretch I know, but the evidence does seem to be pointing to such a bogus conclusion.

On a serious note: I think Michelle has a lot of power over her husband.

jack on May 11, 2008 at 05:16 pm

That’s a HUGE generalization Jack, and you’re directing it at the wrong people.  We’re not no-brain conservatives.

Women have not always been in the liberal perspective they have now, and they have not always been oppressed into submission either.

Women lived secondary roles BY choice.

The subject of women is personal, deep, and complex.  So I’ll save the lecture and discussion, especially because you’re only at the “ake-angry-generalizations-stage

Jack.  I’ve met a woman, valet victorian of her high school, double-major, Secretary of College Republicans
say that she wants to be a housewife with a man who is nothing short of amazing.

That is by choice.

Look, Jack, I’m not for keeping women stupid, by all means I want them happy and in a natural order, but I think you will always misunderstand me and the others here at SAB (for the time being) because you have come here predisposed to frustration.

Open your mind, take a deep breath, and engage in intellectual conversation.

“Natural order” is just right-wing code for “get your ass back in the kitchen and make babies!”

You claim that being inferior to men is the “natural order” for women. How can I have an intelligent conversation with someone like that?

jack on May 11, 2008 at 05:58 pm

That comment is inane. You ignored my evidence of your previous assertion of my being insane because all women do not WANT to live a secondary role which I just proved to be untrue.

I gave a clearcut example of an INTELLIGENT and respectable women wanting to live a secondary role.  She was actually one of the most respectable women I’ve ever met.  Compared to more promiscous less educated ones, who often attempt to domineer their spouses.

You’re being rude and presumptious.  You have become the exact enemy you are trying to eliminate and are doing more damage than good. I’m sorry.

You ignored my evidence blah blah blah…

First off all you didn’t offer evidence, you offered an antecdote. I don’t expect you or proof to understand the differnce, but there it is.

Secondly, you claim that since one woman WANTS to be inferior therefore ALL women are inferior to men.

Your primary thesis---that women live only to serve men, their lord and masters---is just too crazy to have an intelligent conversation about. We’ll just have to agree to disagree.

jack,

Reading through the entire thread, I don’t see where anyone has claimed either of your theses.  Are you in the habit of making up stupid shit as a diversion whenever you find yourself at a loss for something cogent to say, or is this a congenital disability of which we should be aware so as not to embarrass you by making fun?

I think he was taking umbrage at people disliking the opinions of Michelle Obama.  Especially in view of the fact she is a woman and therefore represents (for the sake of this election) ALL women.  Therefore, any disparaging remark is, a priori, demeaning to ALL women.

dirl, given that he based his assessment off of the ONE suitable example any counter examples by you are obviously wrong or not really women.  (Obviously it’s open season on Hillary.)

That’s pretty ballsy to say considering that you’ve been reading what isn’t there and assuming the rest.
