And the award for Chutzpah of the Year goes to…Michelle Obama!

In her speech in Copenhagen today, First Lady Michelle Obama said her trip to Denmark, along with the travel of her “dear friend” and “chit-chat buddy” Oprah Winfrey, as well as tomorrow’s visit by President Obama, is a “sacrifice” on behalf of the children of Chicago and the United States. “As much of a sacrifice as people say this is for me or Oprah or the president to come for these few days,” the first lady told a crowd of people involved in the Chicago project, “so many of you in this room have been working for years to bring this bid home.”

…yeah, that’s sacrifice! Probably left her personal chef, trainer and masseur at home and had to rough it with hired talent!
I looked up “sacrifice” (Michelle might want to when she gets a chance)

This is probably the only thing Obama has actually done as POTUS that might stimulate the economy anywhere in the USA.

I doubt that. The Olympics tend to be big black holes that sucks money down them. Millions get spend fixing up and building stadiums that the taxpayer is usually still paying for years and years later.
Plus there are the added security costs involved with such large crowds. Post 9/11, an Olympics in Chicago would probably be a security nightmare, trying to keep terrorists from around the globe out of an Olympic venue.

Probably a net loss for Chicago and the country, even if a few of Obama’s cronies make out. Add to that the added threat of a terrorist incident, I don’t think we need to be courting that kind of risk these days!
