Mexico Out Of Control?

From the Associated Press!

MEXICO CITY (AP) -- Police enraged by the kidnapping of six officers club unarmed detainees. A bloody battle between steelworkers and police leaves two miners dead. Drug lords post the heads of decapitated police on a fence to show who's in charge.

Less than two months before Mexicans elect their next president, many fear the country is teetering on the edge of chaos - a perception that could hurt the ruling National Action Party's chances of keeping the presidency and benefit Mexico's once-powerful Institutional Revolutionary Party, whose candidate has been trailing badly.

Some blame President Vicente Fox for a weak government. Others say rivals are instigating the violence to create that impression, hoping to hurt National Action candidate Felipe Calderon, who has a slight lead in recent polls.

A poll published Friday in Excelsior newspaper found 50 percent of respondents feared the government was on the brink of losing control.

Security is the top concern for Mexicans, and Fox has struggled to reform Mexico's notoriously corrupt police. Meanwhile, drug-related bloodshed has accelerated, with some cities seeing killings almost daily.

I don't know that this changes anything but it certainly shows why we're getting any refugee's in this country.

Continuation of the Fox Government seems like a mistake, but it's likely the replacement would be worse (think Hugo Chavez). Ultimately there's very little we can do. Meddling would probably make it worse.

The problems in Mexico where even the rule of law is questioned are very deep. However the last thing we want to do is to allow this chaos to seep into our country. We need immigrants that are going to respect the rule of law.

If we want to stop the flow of poverty stricken Mexican we may have to do something about what is happening in Mexico itself.  Throwing money at it will not work because the culture and political climate themself are what is causing all the poverty.  We don’t want to import the currupt cultures then me must do something to contain it in Mexico.  A “orderly” transition to a marxist regime in Mexico will only make it worst in the immediate terms and in the long run.  What is the solution, finances a civil war. The corrupt culture of Mexico have to be distroy.  This will take about 1 or 2 years, about 1 or 2 millions deaths if it is properly manage.  The death of enough of Mexico ruling class will shake up corrupt culures in Mexico. And if we manage it right we can get a dictator that will keep order.  This will also give us an opportunity to nullified NAFTA.

This will not be interferring in another country sovereign affair since Mexico do not understand the concept from their interference in ours.

How do you know we’re not “meddling” now?

We should overtake the country, kill most of the leaders and a good portion of inner city “police”, and give them a framework for some kind of democracy.

Mexico is a veritable third world country. There is no excuse for that! They are rich in many natural resources, people, and have a healthy, intelligent, and young population. Mexico should be giving the world great riches and instead they give us tired and desperate people. Invading and occupying them for some time would be the most moral thing this nation could do for them. Nothing less.

And before anybody calls me “radical”, just remember that I believe that the role of the world’s only superpower is to spread freedom. “Compassion” and indiscriminate “aid” doesn’t work and only acts to prolong the suffering of the country’s people. Our neighbors to the south, chief amoung them Mexico and Cuba, shouldn’t be allowed to be basketcases.

Likwidshoe,

Your solution is somewhat radical, even if you are not.  DocDave is correct.  It is inane to expect the private sector to perform one of the few true duties of the federal government… to ensure US sovereignty.  And that task starts at our borders.  Hell, the borders are how we define that sovereignty.

It is not the responsibility of the Mexican government to ensure the integrity of our borders and stop the exodus of illegal migrants into our country.  It’s our responsibility.
