Merry Christmas
is sure becoming controversial, isn't it? It seems like everybody thinks their particular method of celebrating during this time of year is the right one and they don't want to see anybody else doing it differently.Listen, nobody has a monopoly on the Christmas season. Not even the Christians. In fact, nobody is really very sure of when Jesus was born. December 25th was the date of a winter celebration long before the ancient church annexed it as part of a membership drive. But I'm not going to trash anybody's version of Christmas. If you want to spend Christmas in a church the that's your right. If you want to spend it in a bar, that's your right too.
Personally, I like the excuse to take some time off of work and spend it with my friends and family. The Jesus-story doesn't quite do it for me, but if it turns your crank have at it.
Lets just say that I'm going to have fun here in North Dakota over the holiday. I hope you have fun wherever you are doing whatever you're doing.
By the way, my daughter Harleigh wanted to send you all a holiday message. You can hear it by clicking here. Also, Merry Christmas to all of our soldiers overseas and in the United States who have to work during the holidays. Merry Christmas to the police officers, doctors, firemen and everybody else who also have to work during the holidays. Thanks for keeping us safe.
This site is going to be pretty quiet during the holiday and weekend, unless something spectacular happens. I may post, I may not. Its not like any of you will be waiting with bated breath,
Anyway, Merry Christmas. I'm off to watch Its A Wonderful Life. I love it when they fall in the pool.
