Memo In Obama Campaign Office: “Whatever Michelle Says Is the Message”

A CBS News report from Obama’s campaign headquarters inadvertently aired an inconvenient (given Obama’s insistence that his critics “lay off” his wife) bit of information hung up in one of the cubicles:

Given that, I’d have to say that criticism of Michelle Obama is completely in-bounds.

Cover that up with a Che flag.

What’s going to happen to US industry when the global warming extremists like John McCain double the price of electricity?  I would think all these factories will close and set up in countries where they aren’t scared of technology.

The way I see it is Michelle Obama is an open target. Especially IF she gets up in front of crowds and says things that concern our Country! I know he loves his wife. That is admirable! BUT once you enter the Race for President and your wife gets up and actually says “this is the first time I have been proud of my country”? WOW! That is a huge Red Flag. He needs to tell her to shut up if he is so concerned. OR she needs to just shut up if she can’t handle it. OR bow out?

This message should be no surprise to anyone who has watched the video of Obama bowling.  I think Michelle can take him in a fight.

If you don’t know by now, don’t mess with it.

Hahhah!… That is so funny! BUT probably true.

Obie is just like any other married man.

If he’s smart, he does what he’s told.

Aye Chihuahua on May 21, 2008 at 02:36 pm

Obama’s lay off my wife pronouncement is just another way to neuter his opponents.  We’re supposed to talk about the issues, which to Obama means only Bush and how he has mucked things up!.

lol, this is funny.

A political party cannot be all things to all people. It must represent certain fundamental beliefs which must not be compromised to political expediency, or simply to swell its numbers.

Only in the right-wing world of gotcha politics could a joke like this be taken seriously.

You haven’t even begun to see the flubs of this greenhorn. LOL!

The “reality based community” doesn’t want us to criticize “the message”. They consider it “gotcha politics”.

No, this isn’t just a bad joke. This is really the way these idiots operate. They’re called American Democrats and they fancy themselves as acting “Democratic”, but the “count every vote” people are not even going to count their party’s Michigan and Florida votes for this year’s election cycle.

Every day and every thing is reality inverted in “reality based” land.

That was almost an argument, but sadly it lacked basic reason and logic.

The rules are the rules are the rules that the Dems created.  They will probably change next year, but we can’t change them in the middle of the election process, that would be something Republicans do.

The rules are the rules are the rules...we can’t change them in the middle of the election process.

Hmmm… that would be like Florida 2000?

You mean unlike New Jersey did for Lautenberg when Torricelli was going down in flames. Please. But, what Republican changes are you citing specifically?

And seriously, having a lefty complain about Republicans and elections is as retarded as having a lefty complain about gotcha politics. Barry better get Michelle off the dais and out of the campaign if he wants her off limits, or as another blogger put it “he needs to put a choke collar on that b*%@h.”

Welcome to the real world Barry, it’s not that insulated world of Chicago democrat politics.

Ensuring all votes are counted isn’t changing the rules, nor is questioning the law on that issue the same thing as changing the rules.

"Ensuring that all votes are counted” a favored aphorism, is not what Gore attempted to do in Florida 2000.

As Chief Justice Rehnquist wrote in concurrence:

…in a Presidential election the clearly expressed intent of the legislature must prevail. And there is no basis for reading the Florida statutes as requiring the counting of improperly marked ballots, as an examination of the Florida Supreme Court’s textual analysis shows…

The scope and nature of the remedy ordered by the Florida Supreme Court jeopardizes the “legislative wish” to take advantage of the safe harbor provided by 3 U.S.C. § 5… This was done in a search for elusive–perhaps delusive–certainty as to the exact count of 6 million votes. But no one claims that these ballots have not previously been tabulated; they were initially read by voting machines at the time of the election, and thereafter reread by virtue of Florida’s automatic recount provision. No one claims there was any fraud in the election.

Given all these factors, and in light of the legislative intent identified by the Florida Supreme Court to bring Florida within the “safe harbor” provision of 3 U.S.C. § 5 the remedy prescribed by the Supreme Court of Florida cannot be deemed an “appropriate” one as of December 8. It significantly departed from the statutory framework in place on November 7, and authorized open-ended further proceedings which could not be completed by December 12, thereby preventing a final determination by that date.

No doubt it comes as a shock to those on the Left enamored of the idea that given a compelling and emotive argument a compliant judge can render any old decision he chooses or deems expedient, but the fact is that courts must also abide by the constitutional and legislative guidelines established for them.

Changing the rules that had been in place long before the election is exactly what Gore attempted to do.  The Supreme Court rightly said “NO!”

The entire case, including the Per Curium, and all dissenting and concurring opinions can be found here.

Hannitized.  No that would be the Democratic Party.  Remember the New Jersey Senator slot vacated by a certain “dirty guy”?  The Democratic rules and the general election rules said that one could not substitute a name within 40 or so days from an election.  They did it anyway.  Does anyone here remember that nice little dirty rule breaking?

Hoss, sorry, I saw your post too late, you have the credit.  Anyone remember more details like the number of days, etc.

You mean unlike New Jersey did for Lautenberg when Torricelli was going down in flames.

This NJ case was blatant rule breaking.  I was surprised it did not get to the US Supreme court.

The rules are that states can’t jump ahead of a certain date.

Some states did - including Iowa and New Hampshire, and I believe South Carolina, along with Florida and Michigan.

However, only Florida and Michigan were punished.

Not sure why the rules were broken to enforce the rules only on Florida and Michigan, of course.

Rules are made to be broken - is that the mantra of the Democrat Party now?
