Member Of Obama’s National Finance Committee Asks: Shouldn’t Palin Be At Home With The Kids?

Meet Howard Gutman. He’s a liberal, and describes himself on his Huffington Post profile as a member of Obama’s National Finance Committee and a frequent commentator on both radio and television shows. He also thinks, according to what he said to Laura Ingrahm, that Sarah Palin shouldn’t be running for Vice President.
She should be at home. With her kids. And presumably ironing shirts and cooking dinner and what not.

Now, imagine if a prominent member of John McCain’s campaign had suggested that a liberal female be at home with her children instead of out pursuing her career. What do you think the reaction would be then?
What’s funny is that feminists routinely mock housewives. They’re often depicted as indentured servants who are either too cowed by their husbands to want to pursue an education and/or career, or too stupid. But when confronted with a strong, vibrant, powerful conservative woman who chooses to both pursue her career and raise a family she’s immediately derided as being a bad mother.
I don’t think many on the right, certainly not this conservative, would sneer if Palin were a woman who had decided to pursue being an at-home mother. And there certainly aren’t many conservatives who are sneering at Palin’s decision to pursue a career in politics right now.
What is it about the left that makes them so intolerant? They mock black Republicans as “Uncle Tom’s” and “Aunt Jememiahs.” Log Cabin Republicans (a group of right-leaning homosexuals) are routinely pilloried as self-loathing sell outs by the left. Hell, Joe Lieberman decided to side with Republicans on one Issue – Iraq – and got kicked out of the Democrat party.
I think it’s high time the liberals in this country got some sensitivity training.
Discussion question: How long does it take for Obama to throw this guy under the bus?

“How long does it take for Obama to throw this guy under the bus?” He will have to get in line!

If he wants what is “best for the country” why is he in bed with a pack of rabid socialists?

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm?
My mother ws carrying me when she had her first teaching job. It was at a one room school in the Bear’s Paw Mountains of North Central Montana. The place was accessible only by 4 wheel drive. She managed to raise three kids while teaching school and with dad working also. This was done in a place that the current Democratic Elite ignores. And in the late 50′s to early 70′s. And she is a life long Democrat. I am not. My world travels and experiences in the Fleet had much to do with that.
But my Mom is no different than Governor Palin or any other Working Mom.
To those critics, It isn’t a new thing. It has been around for a long time. Longer than a lot of you who pass judgement have even been around. There are far more women in this country who are just like Sarah Palin than you would care to realize. They have always been here.

Sarah Palin has convinced the liberals that being a stay-at-home mom is an honorable occupation. Not that’s change we can really believe in!

Howard Gutman has given us a chance to judge the truthfulness of Obama’s claim that he will fire anyone on his campaign that makes comments involving Sarah Palin’s family. Besides the fact that I think Gutman is a complete loser-of-a-human-being for making those statements, it is clear to me that he is representing Obama and that his comments are a direct attack on the family. Senator Obama, keep your word and make Gutman an example by firing him! How is Obama going to lead the country, when he can’t even get the democrats to stop picking on a little seventeen-year-old girl? That doesn’t seem like very effective leadership to me. He claimed he is in charge of his campaign and that shows his “executive” ability, but it doesn’t seem like anyone that works for him is actually listening. Gutman is a test for the Obama camp. Either Obama sanctions these attacks on the Palin family, or he will keep his word and fire Gutman.

I know Howard personally, and though I disagree with him politically, I know he is a man of great character who has made sacrifices for his family and is only involved in politics because he wants what is best for the country. If you’ve never been on a radio show before you don’t know how hard it is to not make a mistake and say something silly. He should be judged on his whole life, not one minute on the radio.

We always knew that women with views that opposed those of official feminism were to be treated as nonwomen. To see it now out in the open is the real eye opener.

    Palin cannot be dismissed.
