Megyn Kelly Rips Bill Press Over The Fairness Doctrine

Megyn kicks off with “Hi, Bill. You have a little self-interest on this one perhaps?”
Bill Press, a liberal talk radio host, clearly does.

The free speech implications of the Fairness Doctrine aside (they’re important, don’t get me wrong), I think the other way to look at this issue is welfare for liberal talk radio flops like Bill Press and Ed Schultz. These people simply aren’t competitive in the talk radio market as is and want the government to step in and mandate that they get a certain amount of air time.
The Democrats think that they key to winning over so-called “red” areas of the country is to get liberal talkers on the radio to white wash their actions and justify their policies. And if the people living in those areas won’t choose to listen to people like Press and Schultz, the Democrats are more than willing to use the power of government to make them.

question; is the 50 to 2000 a correct figure? and who says which is liberal and which is conservative?

  • Kramer

Hannitized, she real, not one of your blow up dolls that you sack…you piece of human waste

  • Hannitized

    I could bag her…

  • Hannitized

Megyn Kelly is a perfect example of the hostile right that is now prevalent in all right wing media.

The fairness doctrine is needed when things are so out of whack like this.

    I could bag her…

No, Hannitized…she just looks unhinged! Heh.

The Fairness Doctrine is the latest in a storied litany of government regulation whose name implies the exact opposite of its intent. Air America isn’t a colossal failure because evil conservatives are keeping the truth from people. It’s a failure because there isn’t enough of a market for what they are offering in the markets in which they offer it.

All the Fairness Doctrine would do is foist programming on markets that have demonstrated no interest in broadcasting it.

Yeah, and Bill Press, Paul Begala, Keith Olberman, George Stephanopolous and Chris Matthews are unbiased, objective reporters right?

The reason these people want the fairness doctrine is no one listen to them. Bill Press has like no ratings.

  • SigFan

As smart as she is, it’s just too bad God didn’t make Megan Kelly attractive too! Just kidding …

  • Hannitized

The Democrats think that they key to winning over so-called “red” areas of the country is to get liberal talkers on the radio to white wash their actions and justify their policies.

Or, because we want to make sure the correct story is told, instead of misinterpreted bs that we see on right wing blogs like this and Hannity, on and on.

I think the public deserves the ability to hear both sides.

  • Houston

    HAHAHA!!!

Yeah, true they do deserve the ability to hear both sides (of course they (WE) have that now).

When the Fairness INDOCTRINATION is implemented you will wind up with a bunch of radio stations that can’t sell ad time on the “Progressive Hours.” Then we’ll have another “Spendulous Package” to bail out talk radio.

If the free market doesn’t support it, I don’t understand why it is so important to force it down people’s throats. If you want progressive talk radio to succeed, get some radio personalities who aren’t hate mongers, imbeciles, or at least someone who has a better argument than “IT’S ALL BUSH’S FAULT!!!”

I think the public deserves the ability to hear both sides.

And Mortimer E. Snide your friendly neighborhood buerocrat is the guy who decides what both sides is?

Seriously, if you want lefty news you know where to go and get it. If you want righty news the same applies. There is no shortage of opinions and no lack of ability of the public to hear them.

We have 5 national TV networks that lean left and one that leans right, why don’t liberals want to make sure that coverage is balanced? Because they are TRYING TO STIFLE DISSENT TO THEIR AGENDA.

  • SigFan

I agree Kramer she take no crap from anyone and she is hot, hot, hot… :)

  • docdave

It is important that America hears two sides.

And by God they will even if the liba have to shovel their crap down their throats. Gad, you’re either stupid, naive or arrogant. Probably all of the above.

  • Hannitized

I guess i don’t know my right from my left.

    I meant Left.

  • Hannitized

ok…I would hold hands…and then I would sack her.

  • Hannitized

I think all of those people you mentioned came to surface after FoxNews…..and in response to its. It is a race for the bottom, thanks to Fox.

And Megyn Kelly looks unhinged. That is embarrassing.

  • Kramer

    Amen goon, amen

  • Bat One

I guess i don’t know my right from my left.

    I meant Left.

    H,

There is a very clear distinction between what is right and what is Left. They are, in fact, polar opposites.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

The American public has been duped by right wing radio that the MSM is leaning heavily to the right.

Someone has certainly been duped here! Heh.

  • Kramer

    I love her…

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

“I’ve never called for the return of the Fairness Doctrine” -interview with Megyn Kelly

    One week earlier:

“Maybe it’s time to bring back the Fairness Doctrine — and bring competition back to talk radio in Washington and elsewhere.” -Bil Press Washington Post editorial

    ADD perhaps?

  • Hannitized

We have 5 national TV networks that lean left and one that leans right,

That is your opinion. The American public has been duped by right wing radio that the MSM is leaning heavily to the right. It leans slightly while Fox News over reacts to that perception and then you have an imbalance.

    (Hannity, Glen Beck, O’lielly, Greta)

It is important that America hears two sides.

I think you’d better work on trying to hold hands with a girl first, Hannitized, and work from there.
