Media Giving Obama A Pass On Hope ‘N Change Flip Flops

Obama explains away his lack of “change” and his picking of a plethora of out-of-work Clintonites by saying that who he puts on his staff and cabinet don’t matter. It’s because he is the change we seek, you see? But, wait, you might ask. If the press were paying attention, they might remember that during his acceptance speech he said this whole thing wasn’t about him, it was about us? Wasn’t it that we were the change we were waiting for… right?
Is the press going to let him get away with dropping that hoary rhetoric only to say now it’s suddenly all about him? Would they let such arrogance, such a flip-flop, from a Republican pass so easily?

Given that the media doesn’t even let fashion faux pas from Republicans go by without criticism the answer to that question is a resounding “no.”
Obama’s the one, and the narrative is whatever he says it is. At least as far as most of the press corps is concerned.

But guess what? That won’t happen here. The majority of us who didn’t vote for Obama are hoping he’s a success — not at doing what he promised, but as a leader of the nation.

The two are NOT synonymous.

These early appointments are giving us cause for hope.

Doesn’t that ever get old? Do you ever wonder if it’s your performance, attitude and tone that makes you so unlikeable? Is it always a conspiracy? Why would the media dislike you? Is it your repugnant ideas? Your ignorance? The harping, nagging negativity about everything? The reactionary paranoia? The unrelenting greed?

Sometimes one has to look within and find out what they’re doing to make them so unpopular. It isn’t always the fault of others.
