McClellan: I Never Intended To Suggest Bush Lied
What a joke:
The quote from McClellan’s book was released to generate buzz, so it was phrased just the way the media likes it: Good and anti-Bush. But the reality, at least according to McClellan’s publisher now, is that Bush isn’t being called a liar here. Which is hard to fathom given the wording of the quote in the first place.
But even if McClellan is accusing Bush/Cheney of lying about Rove and Libby’s involvement in “leaking” Plame’s identity, he would then be the liar. Because we know neither Rove nor Libby were involved in the leak of Plame’s name.
Richard Armitage leaked Plame’s name, and it wasn’t even really a leak given that federal prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald knew who the leaker was during his investigation into the matter and filed no charges against Armitage for the leak.
That the media can continue to ignore this simple truth and pretend as though Rove and Libby were really the leakers represents a level of bias and bad-faith journalism that would be unbelievable could we not see it with our own eyes. Tags: Domestic Issues, Media, Politics
