McCain Leads Giuliani…In New York

And by a substantial margin too:

John McCain, 34 percent
Rudy Giuliani, 19 percent
Mitt Romney, 19 percent
Mike Huckabee, 15 percent
Fred Thompson, 6 percent
Undecided, 5 percent

There is some room for hope:

McCain is leading Giuliani in the former New York mayor’s home state. While 51 percent of Giuliani’s backers say they are firmly committed to him, only 35 percent of McCain’s supporters strongly back him.

But shouldn’t Guiliani own New York? At the very least?

    I like watching Bill’s head ‘splode! :)

Carrick, thing is nobady should even be close to Rudy in his home turf (New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut), just as no one should even be close to McCain in Arizona.

    Even that ain't good news, i.e. ..

    .51 * .19 * 100 = 9.7

    .34 * .35 * 100 = 12

Which number would you like to represent the percentage of the electorate strongly in favor of your candidate?

BOGUS POLL ALERT! BOGUS POLL ALERT!

Sorry, but NO WAY McCain leads Giuliani in NY by 15. No way.

New York knows what kind of scum Rudy is. A sick fucker, he got more mileage out of 9/11 than Bush and bin Laden.

Rob you didn't link the poll, or even tell us who performed it.

    Check the RCP numbers though

On the the hand, none of those recent polls are from particularly believable polling companies. IMHO.

There is a large disconnect between New York the State and New York the City – and even in NYC he has not been The Mayor for several years – the notion of 'What have you done for me lately?" comes into play on the average disconnected voter.

  • carrick

I agree about the disconnect down-state from upper state. That's part of why I don't trust any of these polls.
