McCain: I Never Really Loved My Country Until I Was Deprived Of Her Company

An eloquent statement from a man – having spent 5 years in a POW camp having the tar beaten out of him by Vietnamese socialists – who is more than qualified to make it.
But now some in the media are trying to say that this statement is no different from Michelle Obama’s statement about not being proud of her country until her husband ran for President.

Is it the same? I don’t think so. In one instance you have a man who was being detained and beaten as a prisoner of war talking about how he missed his country. In the other instance, you have a woman who seems to think that her nation’s inherently racist nature cannot be cured unless we elect her husband President.
The statements are very different.

They're similar in that only 9-year-olds would give a flying fuck.

I guess my litmus test would beif McCain had died or never returned to the US would he still love America after that point? To be honest, only he knows that answer.

Likewise, if America doesn't elect her husband will Michelle still be proud of America? Once again, only she knows.

I could give a rats ass, really. I won't vote for Obama for the fact that he's a political lightweight, with little record, who support numerous positions in which I believe he's totally wrong. He also strikes me as effiminate, elietist, opportunistic, passive and naive.

When you no longer have LIBERTY, you cry for it.

When you no longer have FREEDOM, you crave it.

When you no longer have that which makes America great, you suddenly find that which you held in such poor regard is wanted, missed, and needed.
