Mark Armstrong Giving Away Copies Of His Seized Personal Journal
I just spoke with Steve Cates, and he told me two new things concerning the WSI scandal (catch up here, here and here if you’re behind).
First, he said that the Attorney General has ruled that Armstrong’s personal journal, which was seized by a warrant from his office at WSI, is public record. So anyone wanting to get a look of it will be able to at some point by putting in the appropriate request.
Second, Armstrong has decided to distribute copies of his journal himself for free down at the public library in Bismarck. So any of you readers who would like a copy can head on down there and pick one up.
Finally, thinking about the situation a little more, it seems the only reason this personal journal of Armstrong’s was seized is because it’s supposed to contain details of some sort of conspiracy between Armstrong, Sandy Blunt and Steve Cates to take out States Attorney Richard Rhia. But the only thing referenced in the journal, I’m told, is a plan to gather the 50 signatures necessary from Burleigh County citizens to request an investigation of Rhia’s activities from the Governor’s office.
Put simply, the “conspiracy” in question is a conspiracy to....start a petition?
Unless there’s something else in that journal we’re not aware of yet, this is as big a “nothing” as the original charges against Blunt and Leingang were.
