The late Phil Ochs, folk singer and author of “Draft Dodger Rag” and “There But for Fortune”, offered his opinion of modern liberalism, which seems to hold just as true today. See if you recognize anybody here…

They want the U.N. to be strong
I go to all the Pete Seeger concerts
He sure gets me singing those songs

I wore every conceivable pin
Even went to the socialist meetings

No, I believe that, like The Nation saying that Bill Clinton was too conservative, Ochs was saying that liberals from the view of the far left weren’t leftie enough. (Plus, they were then as now, a bunch of hypocrites!)

Phil Ochs committed suicide. like all Liberals should.

After years of prolific writing in the 1960s, Ochs’s mental stability declined in the 1970s and eventually he succumbed to a number of problems including bipolar disorder and alcoholism, and he took his own life in 1976.
