Losing Momentum, Nancy Pelosi Bringing Global Warming Bill to House Floor

All those in favor of doubling the price of energy raise their hands!
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will roll the dice on a top priority this week, bringing a contentious climate change bill to the floor despite strong misgivings from her rank-and-file and an outspoken chairman who remains a major impediment.
The speaker filed the legislation with the Rules Committee on Monday night, her spokesman said, even though its authors, Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-Calif.) and Massachusetts Rep. Ed Markey, are still working out a deal with Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson.
So the global warming bill that will double everyone’s energy bill is tied up in committee. Nancy Pants is trying to force their hand by bringing it to the floor.
This seems to me to be a strategic mistake. This global warming thing is viewed very skeptically by the public at large. The public is unwilling to pay an higher price for energy because of the global warming models that are so inadequate they fail to account for clouds that are one of the prime conveyors of heat out of the atmosphere.
In a nutshell that means more heat at ground level means more evaporation. The water vapor raises above much of the atmosphere (and greenhouse gases) and condenses into water droplets. That heat then can easily escape to space. A model that fails to account for that is worse than useless.
I think there’s a lot of Democrat lawmakers that aren’t real excited about coming home next fall to campaign on doubling the price of energy you will be paying. At least I hope there is.
