“Lipstick on a Pig”! Hmm? Wonder Which Candidate Wears Lipstick?

Listen to this man stutter as he tries to communicate very simple concepts:

Oh great another leftard troll. They all sound the same too…

  • http://sayanythingblog.com/ likwidshoe

This common idiom takes on the characteristics of a double entendre in light of Palin’s recent joke. Obama was backhandedly referring to Palin and his audience of supporters knew it.

Obama revels in being able to get away with this shit in front of the national audience. Remember this one? His supporters dishonestly and reflexively leapt to his defense on that one as well, even as his audience of supporters knew damn well what had just happened.

mdmdc – Let’s see–using the “lipstick on a pig” line in a race that includes a female candidate. Hmm–maybe John McCain should relax on his outrage at Obama’s statement.

The “pig” McCain was referring to was HillaryCare. Barack Obama, in contrast to McCain, was talking about the candidates. So, nice try – but no cigar. The situations are not comparable.

“realitybased”bob – same to you. This double entendre idiom use by Barack Obama doesn’t really bother me, but don’t play me for a fool. Obama knew what he was doing. It really doesn’t serve you in trying to convince us that your candidate is stupid.

The term “lipstick on a pig” has been around a long time. If you think Obambi used the term by accident, then you must believe that your candidate is more hapless than we thought!

I don’t believe that the majority of middle America will see his remark as coincidental either.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

He got exactly the reaction from his audience that his comment was intended to engender

Just reminded me of the extended middle finger gesture to his cheek when he was speaking of Hillary. Oh, yeah! He was just scratching! (Wink, wink! Nod, nod!)

  • Bill Mitchell

Imagine the MSM outrage if McCain had called Obama a “slave to his ambition…”

  • carrick

This utterance by Obama does seem innocuous, unless you listen the recording and notice the crowd response.

He knew quite well how the crowd was taking his words. Like the slimey Washington politician that he is, he is hiding under the guise of plausible deniability. That trick works better in Washington than in the hinterlands, I’m afraid.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

Since the little tirade that preceded his “lipstick on a pig” line was plagiarized from a cartoonist, perhaps we should ask candidate Obama who else writes his material…Daffy Duck?

Are you trying to turn us into alcoholics?

No. That much alcohol would surely kill us!

  • http://anthonynunez.blogspot.com/ nunez

    This is simply faux outrage.

I want to thank WOOF and Rattlebrainedbob for bringing meaningless pictures in lieu of discussion to the table! It’s good to know that there are some things you can just count on in this world!

Kenny, rbb: No one in their right mind wouldn’t see the ‘calculation’ in Obama’s quip. Spare us your innocent astonishment.

He got exactly the reaction from his audience that his comment was intended to engender… gotcha guffaws.

As Bill Mitchell has already pointed, folks like you would be in high dudgeon if McCain had said that Obama was a ‘slave’ to his ambitions, or a ‘dark horse’ who won the primaries.

    Grasping at straws…

At least bring something to the table.

    John McCain, October 2007:

While he said he had not studied Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton’s health-care plan, he said it was “eerily reminiscent” of the failed plan she offered as first lady in the early 1990s.

I think they put some lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig,” he said of her proposal

We should start a new college drinking game folr the debates.

Everytime Obama makes a huge gaffe or says “Um”, “Ah” and “You Know” when he is off teleprompter you have to drink.

    I’m in.

Now if I could just stand up. I need a nap.

  • Bill MItchell

“Obama is a slave to his ambition”
“Obama is the pot calling the kettle black”
    “Obama is a cotton-pickin liar”
“Obama is chained to the far left”
“Obama got whipped in the debates”
“McCain mastered Obama in the debates”

All harmless statements taken on their own, all would be incredibly foolish for McCain to say, all would be interpreted as racist by the MSM.

    Exactly!

  • Harry Keester

What is very plain to see here is the Democrats have a free pass with the media to insult the opposition with the lipstick /pig statement. If McCain made a comment,i.e., “one can put a tuxedo on a monkey, but it is still a monkey”. The Dem/liberals and media would be all over him like flies on stink. Nice going Obama. You really spoke your true feelings without a teleprompter.

  • http://insanereindeer.blogspot.com/ Kenny

Once again, Obama gets a pass.

It’s an extremely common saying that I use quite a bit. It has a pretty clear meaning, and it’s a tad silly to pretend we all don’t know what it means.

There are enough reasons to dislike Obama without making them up.

  • http://www.willisms.com/ Zsa Zsa

The libs appear to be the ones “grasping at straws”. They are so scared of Sarah Palin it is ridiculous! They even go so far as to attack her DS baby.

“I didn’t decide to run for president to start a national crusade for the political reforms I believed in or to run a campaign as if it were some grand act of patriotism. In truth, I wanted to be president because it had become my ambition to be president. . . . In truth, I’d had the ambition for a long time.”

    “slave to his ambition…”

  • pparets

Bill Mitchell: You have nailed it! A comment like that would have led to days of MSM & blog tirades over McCain’s apparent racism.

Once again, Obama gets a pass.
