Limbaugh: Bill O’Reilly Is Ted Baxter

Limbaugh’s been making news today with his new $400,000,000 contract, but this from the New York Times caught my eye more than his big new contract:

At dinner the night before, Bill O’Reilly’s name came up, and Limbaugh expressed his opinion of the Fox cable king. He hadn’t been sure at the time that he wanted it on the record. But on second thought, “somebody’s got to say it,” he told me. “The man is Ted Baxter.”

So funny, because it’s so true.

Rush didn’t have much nice to say about Sean Hannity either:

Limbaugh has a deeply conflicted attitude toward Sean Hannity, his one-time stand in and now perpetual No. 2 on the Talkers list. He speaks of the younger man with the same condescending affection that Muhammad Ali once showed Jimmy Ellis, a former sparring partner turned challenger. But he wanted me to remember who is the Greatest. “I have no competitors,” he said. “Hannity isn’t even close to me.”

Rush is right, but he probably didn’t need to come right out and say that.

Sorry, but Rush stole the Ted Baxter line from Keith Obermann. Keith does a preety fair impression of Baxter whenever he qoutes O’Reilly.

Sorry, but Rush stole the Ted Baxter line from Keith Obermann (sic)

You know this for a fact? Because, in the history of the planet, no two people have ever come to the same conclusion on their own?

Plus, Dude! You could try spelling the guy’s name right! You just think it’s like Doberman! It’s Olbermann! (Pathetic!)

For any voter trying to choose between the two candidates for commander in chief, there is no better test than this: When American strategy in a critical theater was up for grabs, John McCain proposed a highly unpopular and risky path, which he accurately predicted could lead to success. Barack Obama proposed a popular and politically safe route that would have led to an unnecessary and debilitating American defeat at the hands of al Qaeda.

O’Reilly was compared to Ted Baxter in the ‘90s. You know? When he still had the TB hair and wardrobe.

As for Hannity, he is a big boy, and knows exactly where he stands with Mr Limbow.

O’Reilly IS Ted Baxter - with an Ed Asner personality!

And Rush is right about Hannity, also.

I love him, but he still debates like a kid in his late teens - he doesn’t do his homework and he doesn’t confront the ones that he thinks of as his allies in the great cause against Socialism and Democrats - even if they have taken very powerful Democrat-type stances on some issues, he seldom reminds them of it or challenges them on it when they need it. He prefers that if the American people didn’t see the debauchle of the GOP person doing wrong by the home team, that they never hear of it, or be reminded of by HIM.

That isn’t fair to the voters.
