    As Obama goes leftist lemmings…

    Hamas TV this morning:
Dancing in the streets at US election results
    Marc Kalberg
    (thanks to Armaros)

When President Obama gave Egypt almost $400 million in military aid only a month or so ago, I asked myself why they need this aid?
Who exactly is Egypt’s enemy and who do they need to defend themselves against that warrants this massive American donation which is funded by the US taxpayers money with no return on investment at all, unlike Israel who shares technology development and other mutual interests.

It is obvious to the world and should have been obvious to the vast majority of Americans that Egypt is now controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood
    (an enemy of the west)
who in turn are the real administrators of Hamas and certainly are on
a religious quest to impose their laws globally.

Not only have senior members of the Muslim Brotherhood
openly stated that they despise America and anything America stands for
they have also said that they will eventually make changes to the peace treaty
that was signed between Egypt and Israel.

    • Mike Peterson

Agreed. Rand Paul is our country’s best hope against reckless foreign aid. Now suddenly, the buzzword “fiscal cliff” pops up immediately post-election. More ultra-polished speeches and promises; that’s all we’re going to get. We can spend months arguing about who get more billions overseas all the while our country is falling apart.

    Have a great time, Rob.

  • HG

I put up a reader’s blog post addressing this as well. Here is my offer in compromise for liberals:

It is projected that allowing the Bush tax cuts for the wealthy expire, would generate roughly 70 billion a year in revenues to the treasury.

I propose a 2yr plan that would guarantee 140 billion in increased revenues.

Year one — tax code simplification:

    1. Remove tax loopholes and deductions in the tax code in exchange for lower tax rates. This would be a revenue dollar for revenue dollar exchange.

    2. Freeze all gov’t spending across the board, including baseline spending.

    Year two — incentive:

    1. Conditionally reduce Capital gains tax rates and income tax rates by a predetermined amount (say 15% and 5% for example).

    2. Set a target of 140 billion revenue increase over two years.

    3. Set a contingent expiration of the Bush tax cuts on the wealthy for revenues less than the target 140 billion retroactive for year two.

    4. Continue the freeze on all gov’t spending.

This would guarantee increased revenues to the treasury equivalent to the projected revenue by letting the Bush tax cuts expire on the wealthy. It would encourage repatriating dollars and economic activity.

    • BadgerFan82

Not sure I quite follow year two. Do you have the percentages for the tax rate decreases reversed or are you really suggesting dropping cap gains to 0%-5% depending on your tax bracket, while only reducing income tax by 5%?
Also curious if you have a contingency plan if we end up in another war. Heaven forbid that Iran attacks Israel (or Israel decides to preemptively attack Iran), or North Korea attacks South Korea, but they aren’t out of the realm of possibility.
Finally, when you say “freeze government spending”, do you mean a true freeze, or at a proportional level. In other words, if program A sees a growth in participants of 2% annually, does each participant just get less going forward?

      • HG

The tax rate decreases need to be determined. The example I provided was a 15% reduction in capital gains for all income levels and a 5% reduction for all income levels. This is just an example. The actual rate reductions would be relative to an anticipated percentage of GDP growth. The goal would be a minimum of 4% GDP growth to effect the target revenue increase.

Contingency for war is not addressed in the plan other than to freeze spending across the board at current levels. The primary goal is to decrease the debt and deficit while increasing revenues by an amount equal to or greater than that amount democrats are demanding.

As for the freeze, it would be a budgetary freeze so if a program isn’t using some funds, those funds are available for new participants. However, unused funds should be returned to the treasury. Keep in mind that if the goal of a min. 4% GDP growth is achieved, there will almost certainly be fewer participants in assistance programs since many more people will be working.

        • BadgerFan82

How is that 4% GDP going to be reached by this plan? What evidence do you have that cutting the tax rate will trigger growth of that rate? I have been unable to find any empirical data to support this, but would love to see it if it’s there.

          • HG

Well lets see. According to democrats and republicans alike, billions of US dollars are being kept out of circulation because of the current economic situation. Lower tax rates encourage repatriation and investment.
According to democrats, businesses with more money re-invest and expand. Obama admitted this when he tried QE2.
As for growth of that rate, we have had 6 years of poor economic performance. We are just waiting for economically favorable circumstances. We’d likely see greater than 4%.

        • AV

I too would like to know how you plan on ensuring 4% GDP growth.

Firstly, while I think that 4% is reasonable, free market economies tend to be cyclical (bubble & bust), and govts have to actively intervene to minimise this.

Secondly, a budgetary freeze misses the point as to why govts spend money, which is to solve the problems that are not adequately solved by markets alone. There is no magic number for how much a govt should spend, so setting a “do not cross” boundary also denies the ability of a govt to fight a downturn (see the EU’s handling of the financial crisis).

Thirdly, congress and the senate are too broken for the govt to be agile enough. To even implement your modest suggestions is basically impossible, since many of the Republicans are playing the “obstruction at all costs” game. (Yes, clowns like Harry Reid do it too …)

          • HG

The 4% is not ensured. It is anticipated. If it is not reached the tax increase trigger is pulled.
If gov’t spending could solve our problems, we should be problem free at 16 trillion in debt.
Whether you believe republicans will support such an idea is irrelevant. Do you support such an idea?

This whole deal is to get out of paying social security it was set up years ago when they spent the reserves on pet projects . social security may have been a Ponzi scheme but the people on it sure would start living in poverty over night if the checks stopped coming , and the job market for these folks is zero . The only job available would be minimum wage jobs and out side of the physical limits of the older folks. you can visit your relatives under the bridge or in a shelter.

      • HG

What the hell are you talking about? I’ve not even mentioned social security. I sure as hell am not advocating ending it.

      • banjo kid

I mentioned social security for one reason, you left that out. The crisis was created for another reason and that is to get rid of social security and medicaid , I said no where in my post that you advocated ending social security , I emphasized ending it with the last sentence ,I should have said it in a different way . I apologize if you thought that I said you advocated ending ss no where in your post did you say that ., Have a good day , and your plan makes sense .

        • HG

Got it. Thanks for clarifying. I completely heard differently.

The election was a glorious day for the truth, for the common man, and for democracy. The American people rejected the lies and distortion of the right wing rats and showed the world we can take back our country from the rich. North Dakota made progress, but we have a long way to go fighting the fear and ignorance Rob spreads every day. The people who stood up to his lies on the blog site, and his brand of Republican greed, racism, and paranoia, have done a great service. The rats of the right will reemerge with more fear, more hate, more racism, and more oppression. The klan was not defeated in one day nor one election. Don’t quit fighting the cancer of Republican greed. The election was great encouragement, but do not let your guard down. Fox imploded, this version of Fox imploded, but these rats will come back.

You don’t have the guts to call me and let me tell you the details shows who a little man is. Yesterday I called Jeff Delzer the legislator who is one of Christmann’s cronies. I have to give Delzer credit he had the courage to listen to the details of what Christmann did. After the lowly lousy stuff you did to Heidi, you have a lot of guts calling anyone little. The election of Heidi elated me and has brought back a lot of my faith in the people of North Dakota. Seeing your lies rejected makes me more happy than you can imagine. Please find an honest way to make a living. Sincerely I want you to be happy, but I want your family to do well honestly.

      • Roy_Bean

Let’s check the score. Cramer, Dalrymple, Peterson, Schmidt, Hamm, Christmann and Baesler (Republicans) won their races, Romney got 58% on the vote in the state and Heidi won by less that 3000 votes. I hardly think the Republicans are worn out or defeated. Heidi is just proof that democrats are like cockroaches, just when you think they are all gone another on crawls out from somewhere.

Grow the economy to increase revenues, same as the Republicans whenever they are in power, with the exception that we don’t pretend that trickle down economics actually works.

What’s the Republican plan when we are borrowing our technology, including military tech, from China because we’ve failed to teach the next generation the math and science skills they need so that we can create it in America?

          • AV

Manufacturing is (deliberately) on the decline in western economies.

We have the best educational institutions, especially at the higher levels. So, to replace (and exceed) the value that was created through manufacturing, we have to capitalize upon what we do best: science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM), and as well as value generated by art, like Steven Seagal movies! So, really, it should be STEAM.

And since competitive markets allocate too little to R&D, especially if we want to stay far-ahead of developing nations, this is why the govt has a role in this, both in improving education and funding blue-skies research. (And, to his credit, Bush II had a better record than Clinton.)

          • BadgerFan82

Right on. Really, there needs to be a two pronged approach. One is government support of R&D, whether through DARPA, through prizes for competitions (the various X prizes) get an amazing return on investment from the participants, or through other funding. Especially for publicly-held companies, the need to monetize their inventions ASAP provides a disincentive for basic research.

The other piece is higher standards, and more encouragement, for math and the sciences from the elementary school level on.

          • Roy_Bean

“You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the
industrious out of it. You don’t multiply wealth by dividing it.
Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn’t first take
from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don’t have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don’t get to enjoy the fruits of their labor” –Dr. Adrian Rogers, Ten Secrets for a Successful Family, 1996

We have very nearly reached this point. This is exactly the reason that the Obama Care layoffs have started, and will continue.

Talk about being out of touch with reality. You’re still promoting depression-era stereotypes that don’t apply today, if they ever did. Only a gullible, absolute imbecile believes liberals are looking out for the common folks in America. That’s the same nonsense I heard as a kid many decades ago. It plays well to the uneducated, unwashed masses. Fact check: There are just as many or more rich liberals than conservatives but they don’t like to talk about that. And most of them don’t give jack squat to charity. How selfish. How greedy. Such pigs. Some of them inherited or married money that was earned by (guess who) conservative businessmen and land owners. Some are just plain lucky to be born with a talent to play sports or entertain us. Good for them. Even if the government takes every penny of wealth from every “rich” person in America (including your celebrity heroes), it would only fund the country for a matter of weeks or months. Then what? Can your pea-size brain think that far ahead? There’s not enough money in the private sector to make up for trillion dollar annual deficits. That fact doesn’t even begin to register with you, does it? Your team held the White House, congratulations. And you made very modest, almost imperceptible gains in Congress. Really the balance of power has not changed in Washington. Heidi played the victim card but ran a lowbrow campaign that no one should be proud of. Did Berg sling some mud? Sure. But Heidi was no better. Yes, liberals know a lot of things. Unfortunately, they know so many things that just aren’t factual. You will get the government you deserve. Unfortunately the rest of us will also get the government you deserve.

      Actually, I’m on a diet.

      • AV

Well, FWIW, willpower is finite (and going hungry sux), so to keep my weight low (in the off-season, and for racing bikes), I choose the sorts of foods so that I’m full by the time I’ve eaten about the right amount of calories. (Whole foods, and fibre in general, are your friends.)

Though it’s probably a lot trickier to do when one has a family …

        • two_amber_lamps

          With all that low-cal leftist s$%t you eat, I’d think you’d be a waif….

Calling a cyclist “skinny” is a complement (i.e., it translates as “fast”), so thanks!

You have the mentality of a donut.

  • Hmmmmm

I’m wondering if Rob will do a story on the obama administration waiting to expose an affair that Petraeus had, forcing him to resign, until just before he had to testify about Benghazi.

    • HG

Don’t think that will prevent him from testifying.

      • BadgerFan82

It shouldn’t. Also, Cantor knew about it for a couple of weeks. Don’t you just hate when facts interfere with conspiracy theories?

        • BadgerFan82
        • $8194357

          conspirecy last longer than a
          “couple of weeks” …
          But with democrats?
That was so last month, huh.

          • BadgerFan82

Conspiracies can last more than a couple of weeks, but if you are claiming that the Obama administration knew about it far in advance and kept it quiet for political gain, you need to account for why Cantor didn’t spill the beans when he knew about it.

  • awfulorv

Congratulations to all those who did not vote for Mitt because of his “different” God, and all that. I will laugh at you simpletons when the day comes, within these next four years I would imagine, that churches are no longer tax exempt, and soon thereafter will whither away.

    • Waski_the_Squirrel

Let’s not build up a strawman. In fact, the Supreme Court has already ruled in favor of the churches remaining tax exempt.

After the pathetic childish spin you put on Heidi’s victory it is evident you need to step away from the key board…sheesh.

If Petraeus does not testify next Thursday; let’s hire a bus to go to DC to picket the White House? Anyone with deep pockets want to help with the cost?

In 2007, I had a zero state income tax liability. Last year, my state income taxes were over five times more than my federal income taxes. I have already gone over a fiscal cliff thanks to Dalrymple and his band of crooks.

  • Uh, What?
  • Mike Quinn

The Republican mother of all greedy rats has a new plan. Now the greed dogs are claiming they will lay people off if they do not get to keep their tax cuts Bush gave them. These rats have been rejected by the American public, yet they still are willing to inflict suffering on anyone they can if they do not get their tax cuts. These rats are the people the Sayanythingblog worships. These noble Donald Trump style assholes just cannot accept the fact that the peasants are entitled to anything. Bill O the rat says 50% of Americans just want stuff. When that rich bastard in Florida wants 22 cars that is ok. When Mitt wants a car elevator for his beach home that is OK, but if an ordinary American wants medical care, or a decent home to live in they are just a god damn moocher that “wants stuff”. The merciless greedy rats will ruin the economy over their insane refusal to pay their share. In the last twenty years the wage of the average worker has gone up 5%, meanwhile CEO pay has risen 750%. The wealth of the top one percent has gone up in the last five years from 17% of all income to 20% and the bastards still want more. Then you have their pathetic little guys like Rob Port buying lottery tickets and thinking he may need a tax break, so here is a slave on the plantation spewing propaganda for the plantation owner. What gives?

    • kevindf

Do you ever feel guilty about your continued violation of the tenth commandment?

      • Mike Quinn

God rewards those who fight for the poor. God has a plan for those who worship the rich, and seek tax cuts for them while the working man has no health care. God said ” love thy neighbor” that does not mean take 90 percent of the wealth for your self and stomp on health care for everyone else. God has already blessed me a great deal, I am sure it is just his way of saying thanks for fighting right wing Satans.

        • kevindf

How much of your standard of living are you willing to sacrifice for “the poor, poor, pitiful poor?” I bet it’s ZERO!

Florida is officle now for Obams..

Even tho some counties had more votes cast then residents..

    Its officle…

Many elections may not quite be settled just yet and this may open an
entire can of worms across the country.

    WatchdogWire reports,

Only one precinct had less than 113% turnout. The unofficial vote count is 175,554 registered voters 247,713 vote cards cast (141.10% ). The National SEAL Museum, a St. Lucie county polling place, had 158.85% voter turn out, the highest in the county.

When asked about the 141% Supervisor of Elections Gertrude Walker stated, “They may have had something like that in Palm Beach County, but we’ve never seen that here.”

We found out less than 96 hours ago that America is in deep trouble.

Over two thousand years ago Rome’s wealth and military strength dominated the ancient world. Reading the works of Edward Gibbon, Jerome Carcopino, Philip Myers, Samuel Dill…. we learn that the demise of Rome was brought about by internal rot. Rampant crime, an explosion in government bureaucracy, the demise of the elementary family, an unsustainable welfare state and a failure of faith in the state made external conquest inevitable.

We have all been here before. We have all been here before.

Lions, and tigers, and bears. Wow lets get scared. We got Muslims, and Kenyans, and community organizers. Wow. Do you guys ever get tired of scaring the Hoopleheads? What if there were a real threat, how would you alert the Hoopleheads after crying wolf so many times. Remember after Obama got elected the first time the silly dingers bought up all the ammunition. The ammunition manufactures just laughed and sold the dopes high priced amo. You just never get any smarter. The same trick works over and over.

    Barry lied federal lands died..

Remember the big stink about oil production being up under the
    “pro oil” president Barry?

Ya…Hiedi will get her chance to open up
“federal lands”. We will be lucky if they don’t use the EPA to shut
down production in the private sector…

terior Department on Friday issued a final plan to close 1.6 million acres of federal land in the West originally slated for oil shale development.

The proposed plan would fence off a majority of the initial blueprint laid out in the final days of the George W. Bush administration. It faces a 30-day protest period and a 60-day process to ensure it is consistent with local and state policies. After that, the department would render a decision for implementation.

The move is sure to rankle Republicans, who say President Obama’s grip on fossil fuel drilling in federal lands is too tight.

How in the world are the leftists going to explain over 100 per cent voter turn out in the swing states? Oh yeah…Holders in charge…They won’t have to..

BREAKING: St. Lucie County, Florida Had 141.1% Turnout; Obama Won County
Between St. Lucie and Broward Counties, we have a pretty good idea what happened in Florida. Normal voting is what, 50% turnout? It doesn’t take many counties like this to affect an entire state by multiple percentage points.
All of these numbers between 99% (Pennsylvania) and 141.1% (Florida) turnout in dozens of counties in swing states makes me think Team Obama was panicking a lot just before the election, with Mitt up by 7% in certain early voting polls. They overcompensated so much the fraud is impossible to hide. I think they know it, which may be one reason Axelrod is stepping down. (Sound familiar Petraeus and Benghazi?)

It’s probably late to get a response to this, but since this is an open-ended section I’ll give it a go. For those of you who don’t believe the worlds going to end in just over a month, and that we’ll get to Christmas, any suggestions of good books discussing issues the nation faces? I just read a good, non-partisan one that I recommend. “Eating Aliens” by Jackson Landers is a discussion of the impact of exotic species on the environment, and his proposed solution for limiting that damage – convince people to hunt and fish for the exotics. Many of the species are apparently delicious, if people just knew it. The primary focus is on the mid-Atlantic region down through the south, though carp (Asian and European) are in ND, and the general concept is applicable nationwide.
