Liberals Love Expedient Definitions Of Land Slides And Narrow Victories

You know what’s funny?
In California, Proposition 8 banning gay marriage was voted into law by 52% of the electorate. Liberal opponents of the proposition are comforting themselves by calling this a narrow victory.
Nationally, however, Barack Obama won the Presidency by getting votes from…52% of the electorate. Something that his liberal supporters are calling a “progressive mandate.”
Funny how that works, isn’t it?

    People in CA don’t mind if you are homosexual. But the mayor took their kids away from them, an force fed them this bullshit about being gay. That changed everything.

    Homosexuality is a biological disease and it’s spreading to this society as a ‘norm’. Gay marriage has absolutely nothing to do with Inter-racial marriage, and it’s getting to the point of no return. 10 years ago, most of these protesters would have been run over. As an American, I’d rather bang my head on the floor as a Muslim, than allow homosexuality to spread any more than it has. Every Lib in America needs to shut up and respect the democratic process. Otherwise, we have no country anymore?

    The Governor of CA needs to be ousted. ASAP.

    Just as a reminder this Veterans Day.

    American veterans made this country great. They have kept our nation strong during the most periling of times. More importantly, they swore an oath to God and country that most will remember until their last dying breath. “I swear to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States of America, against all enemies, foreign and domestic. All 33 million living American veterans remember these words, and the friends lost protecting our great nation and defending the Constitution. Those who plot to destroy the United States or the American Constitution best remember the veterans pledge to defend America and all it stands for….so help us God!

    It’s when we start labeling things as liberal or conservative that makes us a laughing stock. A consumer society addicted to corporate brands. If it doesn’t have a brand or look like everything else, America doesn’t want it.
    The saddest part of Prop 8 in CA is that it would have lost by a landslide if the Mayor of SF didn’t force public school kids out of their classrooms and into a gay wedding.

    What’s next gang raping children to comply?

    Bush said he had a mandate with smaller margin of victory in 04 and a “negative” margin of victory in 00. Sure libs can be hypocrits but tell me how is that not hypocrisy? Voting out people’s rights is simply not constitutional (like poll taxes or grandfather clauses) and goes against our belief in the inalienable rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness which gay marriage fits under all three. I see an American flag on this webpage. Tell me that stands for liberty and freedom and not government tyranny against its own people.

    I am all for life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

    I’m quite willing to allow you to live however you choose even if it offend me morally.

    I am not going to allow you or anyone else ask me to applaude and endorse what you choose to do. Gay marriage is asking me to sanction something that doesn’t fit a moral code as old as civilization.

    You go ahead and enjoy yourself. You can even enter into private contracts with another person. Knock yourself out.

    Just don’t try for the false sterile equivalency of calling it husband and wife when it’s not.

    This is not a civil rights issue at any level. You are not prohibited from living any way you choose. In that you have life liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. When you ask the culture to endorse and sanction behavior that to me is aberrant you are asking me to applaud you.

    I will not.

    Bush had a mandate in 04, not a big one, but one. Obama has a bigger mandate. No one ever said he didn’t.

    By the way, I understand viral response. From time to time I have written something critical of Muslims or of Mormons. There are full time people waiting to take me to task.

    Enjoy your project. I’m not buying.

    Rob, you and I are on far opposite sides of the homosexual issue, however, I do agree with your analysis of Leftist propagandizing methods.

    Everything to them is positioning, packaging, spinning. The sterile truth is an anathema to them. What is good for one is a horribly incorrect for another, depending upon the actor’s politics.

    Those of you who spend a good deal of your lives observing history as it unfolds might share my frustration at the sheer number of the easily-misled.

    Like PT Barnum, the Left counts on the easily-misled. They cultivate them. They import them by the millions. They send out their operatives to scare the living daylights out of seniors and then bus them to the polling stations, as they do for the homeless.

    MTV and university professors sing the praises of vacuous celebrity candidates and spew contempt at long-accepted American institutions.

    At some point their will be a tipping point. A critical mass of stupidity and shiftless greed that will guarantee a permanent Leftist leadership. This will occur when there are sufficient numbers of the easily-misled, those who stand to gain from transfer payments from the tax-payers to the dole-takers.

    It will be very difficult to come back from that. That is why Amnesty for Illegals is so dangerous to America, and why home-schooling and vouchers are so dangerous to the Left.

    I thought that Clinton was the first black president. He told people this during his impeachment because 1) he was raised by a single mom 2) he liked fried chicken and 3) he was being chased by the police.

    I, the author of this post, should note that the post wasn’t meant to be an argument against Proposition 8. I, personally, have no problem with gay marriage. And when it came to the vote in my state I voted to allow it to be legal.

    The post was just to illustrate some of the moving goal posts on the definition of “landslide” and “mandate.”
