Liberal Group Finds “Dozens” Of American Troops With Memberships On Neo-Nazi Site

An unfortunate reality that will no doubt feed further accusations from the left about our military being filled with thugs, criminals, racists and violent nut jobs. When Obama’s Department of Homeland Security issued a memo warning about extremist soldiers his fellow liberals took it seriously. Now it’s a meme that just won’t die.

The Southern Poverty Law Center, the Montgomery, Ala.-based watchdog group that tracks extremist hate groups, has compiled a book containing the online user profiles of at least 40 newsaxon.org users who say they are serving in the military, in apparent violation of Pentagon regulations prohibiting racist extremism in the ranks.
On Friday, the SPLC will present its findings to key members of Congress who chair the House and Senate committees overseeing the armed forces and urge them to pressure the Pentagon to crack down.
“In the wake of several high-profile murders by extremists of the radical right, we urge your committees to investigate the threat posed by racial extremists who may be serving in the military to ensure that our armed forces are not inadvertently training future domestic terrorists,” Morris Dees, SPLC co-founder and chief trial counsel, wrote to the legislators. “Evidence continues to mount that current Pentagon policies are inadequate to prevent racial extremists from joining and serving in the armed forces.”

I’ll not defend these “dozens” of racist idiots. I have no sympathy or tolerance in my heart for hateful bigots. That being said, there are currently over 1.4 million active duty military members. There are another roughly 850,000 in the reserves. “Dozens” in that group who have sympathies for neo-nazis and bigots is not exactly a crisis. In any large group of people there are always bad apples.
And I’m a little tired of things like racism and Nazism being called “right wing.” Certainly the oppression certain groups of people based on religion or ethnicity has nothing to do with limited government, because in order to accomplish things like that you need big government. If anything, the oppression of certain groups of people based on cultural differences has more in common with oppressing certain groups of people based on class or finances (as the socialists want to do) than it does with the limited government movement.

The military attracts authoritarian types, conservatives who favor a social order with a privileged aristocracy. They must fancy themselves “palace guards” or something. You can see that in the ex-military guys here.

What the hell do you know about the military? You served when?

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

The Southern Poverty Center has been very casual with throwing around charges before.

  • sayanything-4625

So you people don’t think it’s indicative of a larger problem?

    Hmm.

What an interesting blindness you have.

So Jack, when you go to a chat room or a facebook page you believe everything that someone says? So when people claim to be from the Moon, Mars and Venus you buy that? When people claim to work for the booty patrol you buy off on that too? I went and read the article here is one thing that jumped out at me…

One participant under the username “WhitePride85,” who said he is a 24-year-old staff sergeant from Madison, Wis., wrote: “I have been in the Army for over 5 years now … I am a SSGT … I have been in Iraq and Kuwait … I love and will do anything to keep our master race marching. I have been a skinhead forever.”

Ole white pride 85 tells you he is in the Army. He abbreviates his rank as SSGT (Staff Sergeant) except the Army abbreviates Staff Sergeant as SSG. Looks like a 6 year Army man would know that. He has to put that SSG by his name a lot. It almost if this guy is lying about being in the military and really doesn’t live on the moon like his profile says.

    http://www.answers.com/topic/staff-sergeant

    1. (Abbr. SSG) A noncommissioned rank in the U.S. Army that is above sergeant and below sergeant first class.
    2. (Abbr. SSgt) A noncommissioned rank in the U.S. Air Force that is above senior airman and below technical sergeant.
    3. (Abbr. SSgt) A noncommissioned rank in the U.S. Marine Corps that is above sergeant and below gunnery sergeant.

Now in my research I did find one confirmed white supremacist. (Its down lower in the article)

The sailor said he grew so frustrated at military life and at being closely quartered with servicemembers of other races that he sought psychiatric counseling for suicidal thoughts. He spent three days in the “psych ward,” he said, and is now being separated from the service on its recommendation.

Wow, a person that doesn’t like people of other races is driven nuts by being in an organization that has people of other races and leaves the military. Sounds like a huge problem to me!

Well, I off to fly my gold rocket back to my house on the moon! Peace out, ya’ll!

So…the liberals can find what the background checks on these spoosed miltary people couldn’t?

    Damn, they’re good.

Further, if it came from the Southern Poverty Center it should be suspect from the beginning.

  • http://proof-proofpositive.blogspot.com/ proof_positive

then you are even less gifted as (sic) you like to think you are.

Projection aside, it would be “less gifted than…”
And yes, Hannitized! Every day you demonstrate that you are less gifted than you’d like to think!

  • Hannitized

So Rob’s point that the reason for people being oppressed, subjugated and mastered is the liberals fault??

    Oiy Vey!

  • http://SayAnythingBlog.com The_Whistler_ofnd

authoritarian types, conservatives who favor a social order with a privileged aristocracy.

Actually the authoritarian privilege types are attracted to Congress.

  • Houston

No Hannitized, the point is a racist is neither right wing nor left wing but a racist. PERIOD!

His comment is pointing out the hypocrisy of calling the racists right wing when there is a solid us versus them mentaility on the left regarding economic class.

Personally, I think one of the most racist people in America is Al Sharpton who is quick to defend anyone who is black and persecute anyone who is white. (The Duke lacrosse case is a great example.)

I don’t think anyone will ever accuse him of being “Right Wing.”

  • robert108

I have no sympathy or tolerance in my heart for hateful bigots.

If you oppose free speech, Rob, you are opposing “maximum liberty”. If their behavior is racist, then it’s punishable under the law. Of course, that decreases their liberty as well, so it’s a problem under your ideology.

What if someone decides to label your site “hateful”, “bigoted” or “racist”, Rob? Do they have the freedom to do that?

  • Bodhi

As American citizens, any idiot can belong to any group they choose.

That’s just a short stretch from believing that certain groups are superior.

So Rob’s point that the reason for people being oppressed, subjugated and mastered is the liberals fault??

    H,

Where does Rob even attempt to make this point? Apparently your capacity for cognizance is even more diminished than we’ve been led to believe.

    Oiy Vey!

Misspelling aside, exactly what point did you think warrants the misuse of a Yiddish expression?

  • e4bannan

    Misleading title.

The Southern Poverty Law Center………..has compiled a book containing the online user profiles of at least 40 newsaxon.org users who say they are serving in the military

Half the people I encounter online are self made millionaires who only sleep with supermodels. At least that’s what they say.

Question: Did they look to see how many are members of other racist groups…such as La Raza (NCLR)? Answer: DOUBTFUL! Heck I wonder how many ppl involved w/ the SPLC is also a member/supporter of La Raza.

Houston: Re: Sharpton. Don’t forget Tawana Brawley.

    Okay,

You folks oughta know by now, any time the Left stands up on an upturned garbage can and screams bloody murder, they are very, very, very likely LYING.

Southern Poverty Law Center Exposed for Lying to the Press

When one of the men charged with beating the Freedom Riders came to their office for legal representation, Dees and Fuller took the case. The legal fee was paid by the Ku Klux Klan and the White Citizen’s Council.

[Fuller, Millard. Love in the Mortar Joints. New Century Press: 1980 and The Progressive, July 1988] Dees founded the Southern Poverty Law Center in 1971 with Joseph Levin [who left the SPLC in 1976] and Julian Bond [resigned late 1970's.] [Articles of Incorporation. Southern Poverty Law Center, Inc.]

(Didn’t Julian Bond end up in the Carter Administration and made at least one guest appearance on Saturday Night Live?)

Acted as Chief fundraiser for George McGovern‘s 1972 presidential campaign in return for the campaign’s mailing list. Raised $20 million for McGovern. [Burlington Times, July 30, 1975. The Progressive, July 1988.]

Arrested and removed from court in 1975 for attempting to suborn perjury [bribing a witness] in the Joan
Little murder trial in North Carolina. Little, a black convict, was accused of killing a prison guard with an icepick. The felony charge against Dees was subsequently dropped, but the presiding judge, Hamilton Hobgood, refused to re-admit Dees to the case. The refusal was upheld on appeal after the Supreme Court of the United States refused to hear Dees appeal. [Ibid.]

“The great untold story of the JoAnn Little trial was the role of the Communist Party, through its National Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression, in controlling the entire political movement surrounding the
    case
. Angela Davis, a leading figure in both organizations became the most frequently quoted movement
figure and constant companion of JoAnn Little
Party members were visible and influential on the defense
committee, and the party frequently set up rallies of support around the country
    .” [Columbia Journalism
    Review. Pirsky, Mark. March/April, 1976.]

Acted as a fundraiser for both Ted Kennedy’s 1980 and Gary Hart’s 1984 presidential campaigns and received
their mailing lists as reward. [Ibid.]

Perhaps explaining the SPLC’s ‘Gay’ rights activism, Dees was cited in 1979 by his ex-wife with a homosexual encounter during their marriage. She also cited numerous affairs with women including his daughter-in-law and underage stepdaughter. [Alabama Court of Civil Appeals CIV 2114, 1979]

The SPLC’s fundraising practices have provoked the disapproval of watchdog groups that monitor charities:
In 1993, the American Institute of Philanthropy assigned the SPLC a ‘D’ grade on a scale of A to F. [American Institute of Philanthropy xxxx 1993 Charity Watchdog Report]

    and

how an informal cabal that included the local media, Democratic office holders, liberal clergy and self-described “watchdog” groups like the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League conspired to defame, bankrupt and even imprison individuals who flouted the liberal orthodoxy in the Heartland, specifically in Kansas and Missouri.

By defaming key opponents, the liberal establishment erodes the almost inevitable resistance it would naturally face in advancing its agenda.

    ….

“They’re drowning in their own affluence,” Pamela Summers, a former SPLC legal fellow told The Montgomery Advertiser. “What they are doing in the legal department is not done for the best interest of everybody [but] is done as though the sole, overriding goal is to make money. “I think people associate the SPLC with.going to court. And that‘s why they get the money. And they don’t go to court.

and, this last past may or may not be legit. I tried calling the number of the law firm, but there was no answer, and it may not even be still active, however the case and number are quite old. There was, however an appellate-level case styled Dees vs. Dees, 390 So.2d 1060 (Ala. Civ. App. 1980).
