Speaking of “sexism” and the poor, misunderstood liberal females of Washington, DC, the cacophony of shrieking and wailing and gnashing of teeth coming out of the nation’s capital this morning over Susan Rice’s “withdrawal” for the Secretary of State post is fast approaching the level of a Sunni funeral procession in Gaza. Minus the black burqas, of course. Here Andrea Mitchell breathlessly explains to Rachel Maddow the administration ladies’ anguish. While here Dem doyen Donna Brazile takes up the cry. More here, here, and here.
What’s interesting is that the anger is directed at Obama for not “supporting” Rice as much as it is at the Republican “angry white men” who questioned her integrity and truthfulness over the Benghazi terrorist attack that killed US Ambassador Chris Stevens and three other Americans. What remains unspoken but obvious, even to the Left, is the fact that she withdrew her name from consideration not out of some higher sense of honor, but because she was forced to do so by the Obama White House. Like Alice Palmer, Madelyn Dunham, Bill Ayers, Jeremiah Wright, Tony Rezko, Jim Johnson, Samantha Power, Wesley Clark, Rod Blagojevich, Bill Richardson, George Tenet, Van Jones, and David Petraeus before her, Susan Rice has been thrown under the bus for the sake of political expediency and the further political glorification of Barack H. Obama. Apparently, it never occurred to those on the Left that once the election was over he would do to one of their own what they had come to expect him to do to the rest of us. The truth about Benghazi must be frightfully ugly.
