Kerry Issues Press Release To “Right Wing Nutjobs” Who Quoted Him Accurately

Meltdown!

Washington – Senator John Kerry issued the following statement in response to White House Press Secretary Tony Snow, assorted right wing nut-jobs, and right wing talk show hosts desperately distorting Kerry’s comments about President Bush to divert attention from their disastrous record:

“If anyone thinks a veteran would criticize the more than 140,000 heroes serving in Iraq and not the president who got us stuck there, they’re crazy. This is the classic G.O.P. playbook. I’m sick and tired of these despicable Republican attacks that always seem to come from those who never can be found to serve in war, but love to attack those who did.

I’m not going to be lectured by a stuffed suit White House mouthpiece standing behind a podium, or doughy Rush Limbaugh, who no doubt today will take a break from belittling Michael J. Fox’s Parkinson’s disease to start lying about me just as they have lied about Iraq. It disgusts me that these Republican hacks, who have never worn the uniform of our country lie and distort so blatantly and carelessly about those who have.

The people who owe our troops an apology are George W. Bush and Dick Cheney who misled America into war and have given us a Katrina foreign policy that has betrayed our ideals, killed and maimed our soldiers, and widened the terrorist threat instead of defeating it. These Republicans are afraid to debate veterans who live and breathe the concerns of our troops, not the empty slogans of an Administration that sent our brave troops to war without body armor.

Bottom line, these Republicans want to debate straw men because they’re afraid to debate real men. And this time it won’t work because we’re going to stay in their face with the truth and deny them even a sliver of light for their distortions. No Democrat will be bullied by an administration that has a cut and run policy in Afghanistan and a stand still and lose strategy in Iraq.”

I suppose I’m in the “right wing nutjob” department.

Anyway, here’s Kerry’s comments about our troops being stupid again:

I think Kerry has been quoted accurately.  He pretty clearly feels if you’re lazy and uneducated you end up in Iraq.

I guess to Kerry an “attack” means “quoted me accurately.”

Kerry should have never been voted into office. Kerry is actually a traitor and could have been court martialed for his traitorous behavior during the 1970’s when he spoke in congress.

Actually, when I first read his comments this morning and before the statements started flying around, I commented at Hot Air that I thought he was talking about the President and his alleged lack of intelligence.  I really do believe Kerry when he says that what he was doing.

We need to be careful that we don’t become the party of the Perpetually Indignant® like the Democrats are.  We need to be better than that.  Everything that someone says is not meant to be a slight.

We can be upset about someone insulting the President or the troops, but we better be absolutely, 100% sure that there is no other possible explanation before we go off half-cocked.

Here is some of Kerry’s stuff lets not forget the man is my opinion a traitor, and he keeps re-affirming that point of veiw everytime he talks. Read the Book Swift Boat Veterans for Truth its a good read and doesn’t paint a very good picture of the Junior Senator from Mass. : from http://ice.he.net/~freepnet/kerry/index.php?topic=Timeline

Late May, 1970—John and Julia Kerry travel to Paris on a private trip. Kerry meets with Madam Nguyen Thi Binh, the Foreign Minister of the Provisional Revolutionary Government of Vietnam (PRG)—the political wing of the Vietcong—and with representatives of Hanoi who were in Paris for the peace talks.

More Kerry:

They told the stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks, and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and very particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country.

Rodney,

All I was saying is that his staff said that he omitted words that were written out for that quote.  Hell, I voted for George W. Bush in 2004 because John Kerry is John Kerry.

Was he mis-speaking when he accused the armed forces of massive and deliberate attrocities in his “Winter Soldier” testimony?  Did he mis-speak when he claimed that his Christmas in Cambodia was “seared” in his memory?

Not in my mind.  He said those things and truly believes them.  Why would I defend the moron about these statements?  He’s just another nut job from the left side of the political spectrum.

bak72 on October 31, 2006 at 11:16 am

Here’s the quote: “You know, education, if you make the most of it,
if you study hard and you do your homework, and
you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can
do well. If you dont, you get stuck in Iraq.”

Was he telling students that only the lazy and uneducated end up as soldiers in Iraq? Depends on what the meaning of “you” is…

You don’t find the junior gigolo’s previous defamatory comments insiteful?  Particularly his “Winter Soldier” claumnies?  Nor his seared memory of “Christmas in Cambodia” enlightening as to his veracity?

Based on that demonstrated track record, and the era of his service, it would not surprise me in the least if he considers the current Armed Forces to be the ill educated dregs of fly over country.  Morover, that is a very fail reading indeed of what he actually said.

What leads you to beleive otherwise?

If Senator Kerry was half as smart as he thinks he is, never mind what he would desperately like others to believe, it would occur to him that with his record of embellishment, deception, waffling, and outright fraud, it’s no wonder reasonable people take what he says in the worst possible light.  They understand what it is he’s saying even if Kerry himself does not.

John Kerry is the very personification of why Democrats are simply not to be trusted, especially where matter of national security are concerned.  One minute he is desperately trying to pass himself off as some sort of military hero, and in the very next breath he is publicly burnishing his anti-war credentials for the benefit of the Dems’ far left Progressive wing, a constituency and special interest group without which Kerry simply cannot re-gain the 2008 Democrat presidential nomination.  Expediency is the order of the day, and the end justifies the means.  Principles such as integrity, honesty, and honor are anachronisms insufficiently nuanced for contemporary world affairs.

Back and forth, back and forth, frantically trying to appease first this group, then another, then back again in an effort to “explain” that he was misled, misquoted or misunderstood.  Kerry’s public pronouncements are the intellectual equivalent of a gawky, near-sighted teenager thrust into a boxing ring with shorts and gloves both three sizes too big, valiantly, desperately trying not to get hit, not to stumble into a punch.

Kerry has soiled this country’s uniform and betrayed the US and the others who served nobly in Vietnam, and he is worthy of little else but contempt.  Contempt for his behavior and contempt for his unwillingness to acknowledge his lies.  He is the consummate Democrat fraud.

And lets us get right down to cases. Who voted against individual body armor for US troops? Who voted against armored personnel carriers and armored fighting vehicles and armored cargo carriers for the US military? Who voted repeatedly through out the ‘80s and ‘90s to reduce the size of the US military?

Go to a little thing called the Congressional Record and see what a big supporter of the US military JFKerry was and is.

Oh, and I am one of those dummies too. 6 years US Army, Field Artillery and Ranger, High School dropout who got GED and extensive career development and higher eduction through the good services of the United States Army. You are what you make yourself, you leftarded moron.

A point which, sadly and predictably, is utterly lost on those of the Left.  Witness John Kerry.

Margie,

Kerry’s “tour of duty” in Vietnam, brief as it was, (less than 4 months) was nearly 40 years ago.

Even if the man is not a serial liar (and he is!), and is merely very easily confused, the Swift Boat Vets were still right in judging him to be totally unfit to be Commander-in-Chief.

In all my years, I have never known a real hero who made a point of his heroism, never mind behaving in so self-serving a manner has does John Kerry.

Bat One on October 31, 2006 at 07:00 pm

Bat1, that depends on what you mean by “self-serving”.

Do you really consider taking your own video camera to record the action “self-serving”?  Especially, when you had your boat reenact the scene of action the next day in an active war zone so you could get good footage?

Thought so.

Carrick,

Your example of self-serving behavior is more than adequate.

Actually, in a convoluted way, John Kerry did exhibit heroic behavior of a sort, although I doubt seriously that his focus on himself allowed him to recognize it as such.  For in managing to excuse himself from further combat duty on so patently flimsy a trio of excuses, Kerry undoubtedly saved a number of American lives.

Like most other Vietnam vets, I have known a number of others whose self-serving behavior was similar to John Kerry’s, and almost invariably the result of their focus on themselves was to get others killed.  By leaving Vietnam having completed less than a third of a full tour of duty, there’s no telling how many American servicemen’s lives John Kerry saved.

As he got further up the road all of the traffic had come to a halt.
He saw a policeman coming towards his car, so he asked the cop what was wrong.
The cop said, “Man we are in a crisis situation.
Mr. Clinton is in the road very upset.
He does not have the $33.5 million that he owes his lawyers, and his family hates him.
He is threatening to douse himself in gasoline and start a fire.”
The marine asked the cop exactly what he was doing there.”
The cop said, “ I feel sorry for the president so I am going car to car asking for donations.”
The marine asked, “How much do you have so far?”
The cop replied, “Well as of right now only 33 gallons, but many people are still siphoning as we speak!”
