Kent Conrad’s Humble Little Beach Cottage
Kent Conrad is quoted in the Fargo Forum whitewashing article about the Countrywide Mortgage scandal he’s found himself embroiled in that his $1.4 million dollar vacation home on the beach in Delaware is a “kind of a traditional beach cottage.”
He’s also said that he couldn’t ever disclose the existence of that cottage to Americans, especially his constituents here in North Dakota, because of “security” concerns. Well, in a few short minutes with Google and a couple of publicly-available records from government websites I was able to pull up a satellite image of Conrad’s home with no problems at all.
Not such a humble little “cottage” is it? It’s a big, bad, beach-side $1.4 million dollar dream home. In fact, I would be willing to bet that once Conrad is through with being a Senator from North Dakota he’ll divest himself of the dumpy little sham apartment in Bismarck he claims is his home for state citizenship requirements and move in to this place which is more fitting to the sort of political player who can call up CEO’s of major mortgage companies and request favors.
And the idea that Conrad couldn’t disclose this home because of security concerns despite its existence being readily accessible to anyone with basic internet search skills is laughable.
